Wondering if it's necessary to get the jailbreak version?

Am looking mostly to watch Hk drama and movie.

I am not sure about HK drama but movies that come with iCNTV are limited. The only streaming app you get without Jailbreak is iCNTV. Better to get Jailbreak one, opens up lots of streaming option.

Pardon my ignorance, how about the English os?
Am Skeptical with jb and English os because I am afraid of the firmware upgrade issue.

bro i tot the newer fw 1.3 and above are supported by snappea with installation of apk i.e no need to jailbreak.

Right, but I find it easier to have Shuame (the software that is used to root the box). With Shuame and Snappea running together, Snappea can repeatedly install or uninstall apps to the mibox. Without it, you can do it only once. My personal finding, might be wrong. May be there is a better way.

I don't have Mibox but if I'm not wrong you just have to install any launcher (try this for example http://minixforums.com/threads/minix-metro-launcher-evaluation-build.4327 and you have an English UI. Might need the language patch above.

I don't have Mibox but if I'm not wrong you just have to install any launcher (try this for example ...... and you have an English UI. Might need the language patch above.

Thanks for your advice. Managed to load that launcher and change language to English. Saw VPN option and tested it is working too.

dude.. i just got it on impulse on sat, delivered to me on sunday, wanna get from me @ 75 ? inclusive of the otg cable. paid 107 for the jailbreak n english menu already.

reason for selling .. think gonna get a blackbox to watch worldcup instead.. hahaa...

Togic live is good enough. It aggregates movies and tv series from Youku, Sohu, Letv, PPS, PPTV, QQ video and more.

I installed that before the launcher. So can't tell unless I remove it. Will let you know if I get a chance to play around.

If you going to buy 1 time only abit of hassle to setup taobao acct. There are alternative like buying fro Qoo10 which has its risk of fake but there are pp from here which buy and no issue.
