Once you jailbreak your Xiaomi Box, you basically can install any Android App. But it is not recommend to do so. Because it will take you time to find the correct App for the TV screen size. I think some one has posted before, download the Sofa Butler App is one of the alternative. i.e. 沙发管家 智能电视应用市场_安卓电视软件TV游戏TV APP下载_智能电视游戏下载_沙发应用市场

Because, from here, you can download a lot of "China" Apps that is optimised for TV Screen. You usually find the App Icon has a "TV" word on it.

If you do otherwise, search the web from Google Play or Blackmarket, etc... most of the Apps are for mobile phones. So, you will get lower resolutions App, or even App that only uses mobile data. But again, I don't use Xiaomi to watch my Netflix / Hulu / iTV / Amazon Instant Video, so, may be you still can find these app on Google Play.

Youku not geoblocked? Esp HK drama..

Last time, ViewQwest cannot see Youku. But about 2 months ago, suddenly, all Youku show becomes very fast and good. Not sure what they did. I think they solved the Geoblocked problem. Most of the shows from Youku are pretty Super HQ.

Same here today suddenly cannot watch ICNTV. Called XiaoMi CS she told me to connect to my phone mobile network for 2 mins then switch back to wifi still did not work. Tried change DNS as per XiaoMi website also cannot.if you look at the setting "about xiaomi" the serial number on mine was blank hence the verification on ICNTV server failed.

I just keyed my information and xiaomibox MAC to ICNTV hoping they can do something.

mine also blocked. i change to 192.241.222.103 then ok liao. even youku and 搜狐 previously geolocked also can play now. i on m1 fiber.

At this moment, MiBox is not official for oversea used. So, sometime Geolock will happened if the CDN in China has done something. I used ViewQwest Broadband, has no problem. Have been watching 律政英雄，GTO Japanese show yesterday. Yesterday found an App 光芒体育 that has Astro Super Sport 1, 2 & 3. EPL was showing there, but the network performance are not that fast.

Is your network SingTel? Because my friend also just bought MiBox3 about 5 days ago. But for the first 3 days can see, then, since 2 days ago, he also got the server failed problem. But luckily can still use PPTV and other Apps.

DNS 8.8.8.8 and 114.114.114.114 as per XiaoMi official site to resolve the 广电序列号 missing issue but both dont work. Have also tried to connect MI3 to my mobile phone 3G network as per customer service also don't work.

In that case, I suspect is Xiaomi's partner iCNTV has changed something. My friend SingTel also 2-3 days ago cannot work. Yours is Starhub also 2-3 days ago cannot work. So, cannot be both SingTel & Starhub changed at the same time one.

So, conclusion is China side, something was changed. Or both Singtel and Starhub buy their upstream China IP Transit/Internet from the same provider, and their connection got blocked, somehow.

I am using ViewQwest and still working fine up till today.

They said ICNTV is the one that blocked all the International or non-China IP address as there are copyright violations issues.

Oh... It is China Regulators has pin point Xiaomi (Mibox), LeTV for violating the regulation by putting UI onto TV and TV box. It seems that China gov needs these people to buy the license to do so. And it happened on Aug 21.

Using SH FBB 300Mbps to watch hk drama on youku some are ok some very lag.

Using win 8.1 htpc with bluestacks to play Youku apk yield better result.

Can't do anything about it.. They are the traffic lights. As what many users had commented before.

Green has Cable TV, so, they of course no interest of making it better for you to watch free Youku.

Same reason, Red one has MIO MIO. So, can't blame them for not providing good IP connectivity to the free TV content.

Airplay

Airplay functionality is always a hit and miss affair for me - I haven't been able to get airplay icon to show up on my iPhone or iPad every time. Sometimes I see the airplay icon but most of times I don't see it at all.

Anyone here facing the same issue and manage to resolve it?
