Don't think English interface means rooted.
Anyway, just install Youku. They have HK drama in Canto language. Just change in settings.

i am using wireless when u meant 2nd generation becareful as xiaomi Mibox is 1, 1S and socalled Mibox 2 aka pro aka enhanced.

buy the Mibox 2 aka pro as I am using 1S and going to dispose it off as it is 1 of the slower box i have

Does changing to a wired connection help in the laggy-ness? It is really tough to watch a show without getting interruptions every so often. I am on a m1 100mbps fiber plan.

Tried both 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz wireless and still same outcome. Mi TV box is just next to the wireless router.

If you want to buy now, it is better to go for himedia hd600a quadcore @rmb299.

The price is same as mibox. It is a more established tv box brand. Better CPU/GPU, 3 usb port, sdcard slot. external antenna, 8GB emmc.
