Recently just bought a Redmi K20Pro premium a couple month back, it worked smoothly until I hit a constant brick with the PlayStore; suspect a firmware issue as I did a factory reset and it still doesn't work. And suddenly I couldn't use all the common apps that I use in Singapore - Grab, Comfort, bank apps, you name it.

Now trying hard to figure my way around it, which unfortunately seen a bit hopeless as Xiaomi seem to have anti-rollback and other features to stop traders to buy from China and resell in other markets; so unless Xiaomi fix the firmware affecting playstore, I'm out of luck.
Wat happen? Plat store can't update?

There are many other phone that is below 800, if no budget then buy cheaper model.

If my budget is 800, and i can get a 5g/SD865/108MP/DDR5/UFS3.0/Dual speaker phone, why would i wana pay slightly lesser for way inferior/outdated phone?

And also why would i wana pay more for a SD865/5G phone when theres a 800 bux model coming soon in a month or 2?

I cheapo one, I want cheap and good

Human nature?

You are referring to Mi 10? Think $800 is not a 5G version. Also you better make sure is dual 5G system if you are looking for 5G phone.

(S10 Lite) Not even remotely comparable.

honestly no need to ride the hype train so hard. sd865 is still 7nm process node, so performance jump from sd855 is smaller than when shifting from 10nm (sd845) to 7nm. 5g is still irrelevant in sg too. and honestly unless u are for some reason doing lots of data crunching on your phone or need to use it as a portable hard disk, there is no need for lpddr5 or ufs3 (even then xiaomi still uses usb2). last gen phones are still very good, and often u can snag them for sale for almost half the original msrp (which would probably already be lower than the new flagship), and u probably only miss out on maybe processor speed and even then not much is missing, it will still be very snappy in day to day use. or u can save even more by buying a midrange phone, and u will even get back ur sdcard slot and hp jack. cheap phones are getting good, and u will probably find that spending 3 or 4 times more on the latest flagship vs a last gen flagship/midranger wont net u 3 or 4 times better experience, especially if all u do is just social media/messaging/edmw.

I have to agree with you. I bought a cheap redmi note 8 pro for $279 and sold it after 2 weeks and got myself a second note 9 for only $400+ from carousell. Reason is that spec sometime isn't everything. Is the UI and build quality that matter the most.

I can assure you those speed test on YouTube dont really represent the true usage because at the end of the day, you dont use two phones and compare the speed. You will much prefer a stable and smooth interface all the time. That is why people are buying iPhone for a reason.

Go for last year flagship phone, they are the real flagship killer.
I have shared a link below by Dave2D and he explained why.

If someone gonna pay over 1k for Android phones, it would be something not running MIUI.

Tbh for me OneUi 2, ColorOS and EMUI aren't really better or worse than MIUI. The only ones that are noticeably better is Oxygen or Stock Google.

I find ColorOS is much faster in term of response. Miui has more features but a memory "eater". Rest is so so, basically all come from the same source code.

I know, only kumgong will pay so much for a phone, not to mention it is just oppo, people with that kind of budget will go for sheng song phone or fruit phone.
