Cannot relock the bootloader after flashing global rom?

My MI 5s can relock, My Mi 8 cannot. I think Mi 8 was first model not allow to relock if ROM from different region is installed. I believe Mi 9, 10 and upcoming 11 is the same.

At the moment Malaysia Xiaomi announced via Facebook they taking preorder on the 8 April. Not sure what's their way of selling u have to go check out their facebook post on that day itself.
