If over heat is due to hardware design. Then FW update is simply just to under clock the cpu to product less heat.

In other word. Your phone will runs slower then the advertised speed.

the mi4i is already slow. im using a note 3 currently and felt the mi4i is really way off.

if they are to downclock, this is it. i will be putting it up cheaply for sale since its not something i would like to keep anymore.

productivity is key to smartphone. else i would rather pay for symbian to show brand loyalty to nokia

Happen to Redmi 1s. Down clock too much and you can really feel the different.

Note 3 though almost 2yr old, it has better hardware than mi4i
flagship vs mid tier kinda unfair

Before this I'm using ip5. after using mi4i few days I feel that there tends to be few seconds lag when opening apps (about 5sec) whereas iPhone open up immediate. is thus normal?

Love the size weight screen of this phone but it's kinda of lagging at times. And I'm only a causal user not often on hp.

Amazing. After updating to latest v6.5.5, battery life is bloody crazy. After I woke up from sleep only drain 2%, as compared to 5-7% previously. Plus, volume also got better on the down low and speed has been the same. You can always do a benchmark test. Seriously, this phone is able to last me for 1.5 days under heavy usage. Bloody amazing for a $279 phone!

This phone is still 'under probation' with me lol.. Anyway, it doesn't make sense to invest in expensive protector or case on this budget phone.
