The Xiaomi Mi 5 supports 7 LTE bands, and you can tap to an LTE network on either SIM, but once you do, the second one will be limited to GSM connectivity only. As for that, the Mi 5 also offers quad-band GSM connectivity. There is quad-band 3G connectivity with HSPA support.

Can anyone confirm that the bolded part is false?

I'm taking "GSM connectivity" to mean 2G, since the next 2 sentences differentiate between "GSM connectivity" and "3G connectivity".

I thought Mi SG already confirmed that when one is on 4G the other can still be on 3G?

Think what is mean is when sim1 connect 4G (with data) , sim2 can connect as 3G instead of 2G but only voice call and normal sms but not data connection.

Bought it from Qoo10.sg global shop, listed at $569

Will verify the mobile connection later. Right now, i have a problem getting Google contact sync to work. All other Google services and Play Store works fine, just that contact sync cant work. Any other Mi5 users facing the same issue? :(

Where did you buy it from and how much? :o

Also, possible to verify that concurrent 4G/3G and 3G/3G works? (voice in 2nd sim)

My initial impression of this phone ...

Having a usable dual SIM functionality aside, this is a quite a decent phone at this price range. Its really fast and responsive. IMO, it feels even quicker than a S7 in daily use. The quality of its camera may not be the best amongst flagship models but the focus and response is fast. A handy feature is the option of changing exposure on the fly. U can tap anywhere on the screen to focus and a circle will appear at the focused point. U can simply slide the scale around the circle for more or less exposure b4 snapping the pic. I also like the option where the shutter can be silenced. The finger print scanner is accurate and fast. Pressing and releasing the home button gets u into the home screen in a split sec when the screen is off. Having the option of either physically pressing the home button or just touching it like a capacitive key is a nice touch.

TBH, i'm not really a fan of MIUI interface but its simple and it gets the job done. No bells and whistles.
