Wow, this thread is still alive. I got me Mi Max on 27-May-2017 at $369 for the 4/128 model.

Just installed EU ROM 10.2.1.0. Android 7.0, security patch level 2018-04-01.

Only using the phone as a mini-tablet now. Too big to go into the pocket, troublesome when climbing up stairs. :s22:

$369 for Mi Max 1 4/128?

That's quite overpriced :s22:

That was the price he got it for at almost 2 years ago...
lol, yeah, I just realized he wrote 2017. I think most Max series phones are of better built quality and that explains the longer life span.

I personally have 2 Max 2 and thinking of buying a 3rd one. Large phones good for old folks.

My first gen max open mouth (display pop out at lower part) in just about 8-9 months time. Probably due to that I always put it in pocket while bending. Not rigid enough for gen 1.

I see, mine is always in a flip casing and SP so it's hard to bend.

My problem is always bloated battery with lower end series of Xiaomi (just replace with new phone instead of battery) but the Mi Max series seems to be better.

The battery is located at the lower half of the phone which you mentioned about it popping out.

That's normal and still got to find time and effort to replace. I took my 4x apart and never got to change the battery because a brand new 4/64GB Max 2 is $179.

The Gen 1 had poor structural quality. I dropped it once and a corner popped out too. Pressed it back, however can see that corner is a bit loose.
