A73/A53 octa-core 2.2ghz 14nm Snapdragon 660
NFC! 5000mAh Adreno 506

But I already saw the pic of case & screen protector at Chinese site, the cutout features USB type-C, ir blaster is further away from mic & 3.5mm jack, no dual camera.

estimated May launch
last year official Mi Max arrived SG at Sep
export sets came at which month?

Okk so export sets ftw, now left the price & availability. I wouldnt mind a hexcore with 3gb/32gb config.

What I really want is the 14nm soc for enhanced power savings, now if mi max 2 is cheaper than lenovo vibe p2, then all is good & huat-ah.

Local sets don't give value IMHO, do xiaomi SG have a proper hardware service ctr, or do they send/wait to/from China?

Maybe some kind soul could start a thread for mi max 2 lol

For those with lineage os, could try arise sound mod at xda to fix system level audio vol issues.

Ppl should also investigate if 2nd mic for noise cancelling is overactive or not

Mi Max 2 will feature a SD626 processor, I don't how you all view if the Max 2 is an downgrade or upgrade from its processor.

Xiaomi SG do have a proper repair centre at Central@Clarke Quay.

Now it's too early for a Mi Max 2 thread haha, wait for more info first~ :s13:

But the thing is that even n if u bring it to local xiomi. I doubt they will even do the repairs or send it to China. So in the end u have itself to weight which is impt to u : price vs support :s8:

It will be depending on the price tag of the export set. If it is still around the sub SS300 region, then buying the export set makes sense.

SD 626, ya the Adreno 506 is a dead giveaway.

Performance wise, might be a downgrade, need to compare benchmarks coz A53 at 2.2ghz, it might be a tie.

Battery wise is an upgrade, 14nm, 4850 -> 5000mAh.

USB type-C and NFC is good.

This is actually quite lame as its starting to look like Redmi Note 4, performance OR battery driven choices.

Or we could look forward to Redmi Pro 2 for SD660

The other SD 625/626 phones with such a large battery are Lenovo Vibe P2 & Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom? > $400+

Yes agreed. Especially the export set price is some what close to $100 different from local set.
As long as export set cover with some short period of warranty to cover open box defect. I am fine with it.
Aalso take note it is still covered by Xiaomi China if you happen to travel to China.

Hmmm...I can't remember clearly now but I think that you either need to:

Step 01:
Apply for unlock code here first if you have nor done so: http://en.miui.com/unlock/

OR

If not, you must enable these 2 options in Developer Options first for that MiUnlock software to unlock your phone. You can try it again by enabling these 2 options and see how it goes first before start from Step 01. No harm give it a try! :s22:

i confirm do step 1 also.. also have enable developer options I am stuck at the miUnlock software part..

also can anyone advise how to change the system fonts? feels quite locked previously i rooted samsung phone before .. seems quite straight forward..

is it me or what? after upgrading the firmware to 8.2.1 the fingerprint scanning seems to be slower than the previous firmware... and there is no haptic feedback during unlock after successful scan.

Yes. No more haptic feedback anymore if successfully. Haptic feedback only if it is a "wrong touch".

Actually, it makes sense to differentiate the "wrong" and "correct" touch of fingers. :)

As for the fingerprint. Just remove the fingerprints that you have configured after the update and re-register your fingerprints again. That should solve the problem.

Can you enter Fastboot mode on your phone. Issue these 2 commands to check of your phone is being recognize by your pc. 2nd command is to check the bootloader status.

Enter fastboot mode in your phone by power off the phone. Press and hold both power and volume down buttons. Plug in to pc immediately and release both keys immediately. The bunny with fastboot word should pop up on screen.

*Presumed that you have installed adb on your pc already.

Fastboot devices.

fastboot oem device-info

I suspect that your phone is not being recognized by your pc. Haven't you installed the 9008 driver?
