So much? This is interesting, please share how.

Sent from Xiaomi MI MAX using GAGT

rooted it.
I don't need the performance to be fast as my usage is just surfing browser, occasionally whatsapp, listening to music, meddling with my calendar ,manually checking email/bank apps, viewing gallery and expense manager app...

so I set all my 4 little CPU at 400MHz, big ones all unchecked (using the prime model), powersave mode. GPU set at powersave mode too.
you might think the speed is greatly affected, but not really. still smooth.

most importantly, I am using the China stable ROM WITHOUT Google.so I am free from all the Google play services wakelocks and whatnot.
so when it comes to backing up, just backup the file to dropbox solves the problem.

but are you able to live without Google on your smartphone?
you might have no idea Google components are battery drainer. with so much wakelocks.

the reason why am I still on miui 7 is because ,I don't need all the new changes at all. I believe the always on fingerprint scanner on miui 8 sucks battery too.
personally, I always prefer to stick with the oldest firmware for better battery life.

now at 40% left. 10% usage from last night 9pm till now , another SOT of 2h14m. so total 13h30m.

edited: using opera mini browser can save a lot of battery too. It is good enough, don't need a full fledged browser. and Facebook standalone app is very taxing to the battery as well. try surfing Facebook on the browser. I don't need prompt notification on fb too.

Whoa that's some serious battery life! 2D1Hr since last charge with 50% left is fierce stuff.

its the SOT which is fierce lah.
with very less usage, hitting >2 days is very easy, just left it on standby most of the time. like my mum, one charge can last 6 days or even longer. but her SOT isn't ideal, maybe like 2-3 hrs only. another factor is due to all the Google components running in the background.

Ok that's true. Coming from an old mi3 which has ~ 1 day or less of battery life, anything more than that is pretty good already heh. And judging by what you've said, given that our usage patterns are similar, the Google stuff really does use a whole load of battery.

once the battery left 20%, the standby and SOT are not constant at all, drop very fast.
with 15% left, current SOT is 17h. abit lower than what I expected at 18hrs.
haywire..
shall calibrate the battery.

Dear all, I bought mi Max from an online seller Oct 2016.
Last few months, Mi Max kept auto switched off, and the camera function.can't.be used until I switched off and on the phone a few times.

Then, it became auto switched off whenever the handphone shake...
When switched on, it will show battery low level when in fact it has been 70% charged before it was auto switch off.

After which, it became so hard to switch it on. It can auto switched off more than 10 times per day.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Will Mi Singapore repair it?

I have already done one factory reset a few.weeks.back.when.the hp kept auto switched off

It looks like a faulty battery or to me. However, it can be other faults too.

Is it a local set or an export set?

Mi Singapore entertains local set only. As for the repair cost. I have no idea about it.

If the repair cost is more than $200. You might as well buy a new set be it a local or and export set.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

How do we check if it's local or export set?
Within 3mths of purchase, the screen cracked
I had repaired it at a shop, think it cost100+

Feel that it's wasted if to just throw it away

Well! You have got to tell me where, how and from who did you buy your Mi Max from?

A screen shot of your About Phone would help greatly. I must look at the MIUI version to further determine the origin of the set.

Folks, Quick one!

Any shops (Bugis area / SLS) to recommend to buy this type tempered glass sp and that the shop people will apply for you?

I need one fast. So, I do not not want to order online even though it can be much cheaper.
