I did try these 2 roms.

The latest official Global Developer 7.4.27 and eu rom 7.4.27 Developer.

With both roms, my WhatsApp has no notification sound at all with just vibration when messages arrive!:s11: :(

Anyone has the same problem? :s11:

Well, was on eu beta previously and it do have sound on customized tone. :s22:

Hmm...Probably that the 7.4.20 and the current 7.4.27 have this WhatsApp customized sound bug?

I have tested all other Apps. All the assigned customized tones are working fine!

So, it is just WhatsApp that screwed!

Audio wise (I'm on eu rom 7.4.27 Developer now):

Positive: The earpiece sound quality is awesome. That quality improves even for YouTube audio now. Not just media files playback.

Negative 01: Speaker sound output loudness has been reduced quite a bit compared to Global rom but it's still acceptable.

Negative 02: Auto Brightness bug. Once you unchecked the Auto Brightness, the preset manual brightness level always falls to the lower lever. It doesn't stick to the level that you have preset it before turning on the Auto Brightness!

I will stay with this rom to see how it goes as long as this isn't any major or catastrophic bugs!

I'm very happy with one fix. That's you can now upload photo directly to Photobucket via Gallery through its app. This, can't be done on current Stable rom. In Stable rom, you have to open the Photobucket app first and then upload it from the app itself.

**Note that this eu rom 7.4.27 is based on China Developer rom, and not based on Global Developer rom.

Hardbricked when flashing MiMax Hydrogen - global dev rom

The Global Dev rom 7.4.27 has similar bugs on WhatsApp and Auto brightness and they're still there despite several updates which are quite annoying.

So lat night, I carefully followed Dragonguy's steps in post #2505, however it stucked with error notification on step 11 below -> hardbricked :(:(:(

Any body knows how to solve hardbricked mi max hydrogen? Thanks a lot for your help

The steps are quoted here :
I think I do it now better as I have a tendency of cannot fall asleep when something is undone. :s13::s22:

Below is the guide based on Doom Slayer (xiaomi.eu) & hstende (xda). Besides crediting the 2 of them, also credits to some of the bros here for contributing (who know who you are).

The guide will be totally based on EDL mode and you will find it is striking similarity to my EDL flashing guide :s13::s22:. Cheers.

============================
*NOTE TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK (AS USUAL :s22:)

----------------
!!!! README !!!!

- ANY FLASHING OF WRONG SET ROM WILL RESULT IN HARDBRICK.

1. Download any fastboot rom for your set from official miui site here. if you have existing fastboot rom for your set then use it. (note: file name will end with *.tgz)

2. Download your desire xiaomi.eu stable rom or beta rom from this xiaomi.eu forums.

3. Download respective twrp for hydrogen and helium sets.

4. Download miflash beta if you haven't yet here.

5. Download Qualcomm Drivers here if you first time flashing.

6. Unzip the official fastboot rom to root of "C:\", e.g. "C:\fastboot_rom_folder_name".

7. Rename the twrp "*.img" to "recovery.img". Go to the unzip official fastboot rom folder and go into the "images" folder. Copy and paste the rename twrp "recovery.img" in that folder and replace the current same file with it.

8. Install the Miflash beta if you have not. It will be be install as "XiaoMiFlash". After run it as administrator. Click on select and point it to the root folder of the unzipped modified fastboot rom. e.g. C:\fastboot_rom_folder_name. After that on the bottom right, check on "clean all" options.

9. Turn off your phone. Press and hold vol+, vol- and power button to get to EDL mode. Note that the screen will not show anything, you will know it has power on as it will have vibration upon bootup.

10. Connect phone to PC, wait for it to detect and install the necessary drivers. Open up you device manager, you should see under "Ports (COM/LPT)" something like "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM4)", note that your COM number may vary.

11. Refresh on XiaoMiFlash and your phone should show up, e.g. COM4.

12. Click on flash and wait for it to complete.

13. After success, unplug and reboot your phone by holding on to the vol+ and power button (maybe 10 sec or longer)

Found this video on youtube : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdk0d2Zrm9w (How to Flash Hard Bricked Xiaomi Devices No Fastboot, No edl)

But when peeled my genuine USB cable, it doesn't have the black and green internal wires. :s22::s22:

Can you go into Fastboot mode? That bunny with a Fastboot word on screen?

Volume Down + Power at the same time with phone connected to the pc via cable?

Also, is your bootloader unlocked already?

That's why unlocked the bootloader is very critical if one wanna play roms. Coz, with unlocked bootloader, and if one can enter Fastboot mode on the phone, one can install TWRP and install a custom rom, then after that, can flash back to official rom to resuscitate your bricked phone easily in certain bricked scenario if not all.

Wow! Finally, after a long break! :s22:

Some lucky random users here may get the Beta Stable OTA being pushed to their phones!

Global Mi Max has gone up to 8.2.5.0.

Global Mi Max Prime has finally gone up to 8.2.3.0 from 8.2.1.0 or 8.1.9.0!
