Check the earpiece volume loudness for YouTube video.

It has been damn low when watching YouTube for the past few versions. I wonder this version fixed it or not? It is a known volume scaling bug.

Also, second check will be to see if the earpiece volume drops drastically when you switch on Mi Sound Enhancer?

The Beta Stable 8.2.3.0 for Mi Max Prime received on my other set of Mi Max Prime which is running the official Global rom!

My own set is running eu rom 8.2.3.0 CN based.

Hmm... Strange!

After turning off MIUI Optimization, I could not dial a USSD code using a Malaysia prepaid card in slot 2. It stated simi "... could not connect..."

So, after turning it back On. I can dial now.

Also, my WiFi auto switch app didn't work too. Now, it works after turning it back On.

Therefore, I have to keep the MIUI Optimization On.

Took almost 53mins for the flashing. I fell asleep, woke up and still haven't finished. *faint*

The flash took me around 15 mins. I didn't use the clear all option. I used the save user data but still nothing saved. It was a complete wipe out in my case. It could be I used the wrong miflash initially.

I took the plunge to go for lineage OS by nijel8 last night

Review (will update by EOD)

1.Can only use included root otherwise bootloop
2.No xposed framework yet for nougat (big turnoff because cant use AppSettings to change dpi per app)
3.Battery looks good
4.Performance seems better, more responsive (not saying miui is lagging or bad). Browser and GAGT load faster seems data transfer using 3g / wifi is better in Lineage ROM
5.Miui status bar aesthetically better
6.Miui launcher is better compare to google launcher. Now installing buzz launcher, theme is awesome !
7.I read miui camera app is better compare to nougat stock camera but i havent test. Now installing snapdragon camera and open camera

Now when i restore my backup i cant pass through lock screen

The Global Dev rom 7.4.27 has similar bugs on WhatsApp and Auto brightness and they're still there despite several updates which are quite annoying.

So lat night, I carefully followed Dragonguy's steps in post #2505, however it stucked with error notification on step 11 below -> hardbricked

Any body knows how to solve hardbricked mi max hydrogen? Thanks a lot for your help


The steps are quoted here :

If you can still reboot to edl mode, than just flash official rom. Then boot up let it install. Then try again after you unlock your bootloader.

Else, open up your set and pull battery if cannot reboot at all.

Note that for the twrp install, DO NOT LET IT REBOOT NORMALLY AFTER FLASHING, MUST PRESS VOL + AND POWER BUTTON TO GO INTO THE TWRP. THE PURPOSE OF THAT GUIDE UP TO STEP 11 IS FOR TWRP TO BE FLASHED, NOT FOR ROM. AFTER WHICH DESIRE ROM TO BE FLASH VIA TWRP. ALWAYS REMEMBER TO FORMAT (LEAVE THE SETTINGS AS DEFAULT IF YOU UNSURE, DON'T BE SMART ALEC ENABLE THIS ENABLE THAT) THE PHONE BEFORE FLASHING & WIPE CACHE AND DAVLIK AFTER FLASHING TO ENSURE CLEAN ROM.

That's why it's in developer mode. However long long time ago (in part 1), some bros mentioned this for solving delayed notifications thingy. However, throughout my MiMax usage, i never encountered this. Only lock apps & set auto start only, no touch what battery settings la, optimisation setting la.

Sidenote: the beta sound good right? I no bluff you right? Kinda missed it...

Oh Ya!

Those who don't receive notifications from the Shopee app. You have got to put the Shopee app in Autostart as well as assigning the Shoppe app to the non battery optimization zone of "No Restriction" in the Security app.

I did that to Samsung health, but shut off.

Beta is good as long as no critical bugs depending on individual.

Sadly, the WhatsApp and auto brightness bugs are considered critical to me.
