Anyway, update on the Magisk.

Magisk root > Magisk Hide on UOB mobile app failed too!

UOB is the only app that failed the security check on my rooted Max.

DBS, Citibank and OCBC apps are working fine as usual on rooted Max! :s22:

Yes. Install TWRP.

OTA works for eu rom but I rather download the updated eu rom.zp, copy into my phone. Reboot into Recovery (TWRP) and then "Install" the new eu rom!

Reboot and Bingo! Less than 10 minutes kind of job for the whole process! Simple and easy and super reliable! :s22:

Kelvin, do you meant the other 3 banks' apps were working when your Mi Max was SuperSU rooted?

Which guide did you followed for the Magisk root? I want to try it when Miui9 go stable...

Yes. That's right. UOB Mighty can detect and block it when you supersu or Magisk > Magisk Hide your UOB Mighty. These other 3 banks apps don't bother about rooted phone so far. :)

My StarHub app also can detect root (Magisk) but it allows one to continue using the app.

Google to Magisk own webby. The guide is there. :)

Recently, I've gotten the Mi Band 2, so I need to keep Bluetooth on, but my Mi Max like having memory issues. Slows down to a crawl with just Fb and chrome, cannot run a 3rd app without force closing everything - sometimes, even FB alone, the phone keeps hanging.

Mine is the old 32Gb model, running MIUI 8.5.1.0 Stable / Global

Can't be so jialat right? With Bluetooth running, everything slows down.

What should I do? Upgrade to Mi Max 2?

May consider a used and cheaper Mi Max Prime 4/128 instead of Max 2 4/64 or 4/128....:s8:

** $180 the most to grab a Mi Max Prime 4/128...and still can have Color LED..:D

By now, the used 4/128 should be abt the "same age" as mine, not sure if it's "memory leakage over time? Or just that my 3gb totally not recommended for 24/7 Bluetooth?

May be can try downgrade to V8.2.5.0.MBCMIDL or Miui 9 Gobal beta to test out...

XDA's Oreo build for Mi Max is out, some features & bugs to work out, but generally working. Oreo gives much better battery performance, it's working well on my Asus Zenfone 2 Laser, look forward to stable build.

Currently, the battery champ is Lenovo P2, but it's the last of its kind, no more P3 next year. Mi Max 2 will take its place. Kernel sources will be released soon, can't wait for MM2 Oreo.

I have gotten Mi Band and then Mi Band 2 and now Xiaomi Amazfit Pace. But the BT on my Mi Max 32GB has always been ON since day 1.

No issue. I am on latest Global Beta now.
