Yes MIUI China rom will get this kind of problem. It also comes with many ads in built-in app. Try not to use China MIUI.

I wonder if you have tried to long press on these annoying China apps in the pull down notification panel and when the app settings open, you can off the app's notification?
I did that for every China app that make annoying sound when something appearing in the pull down notification panel. Now my Mi Max is mostly quiet.

There is EAP to connect to wireless@sgx in mi max. Click the arrow on the right hand side of wireless@sgx and choose sim and click ok on the top of the page. I'm using it now.

Those who say gmail and whatsapp never auto push, check your settings? Mine working fine, using miui 8 china rom now.

Which setting? I've done the security autostart for WhatsApp, but Gmail is not listed in the apps list to set autostart

Because miui 8 global stable is not officially out yet for 32gb mi max. Just wait a bit longer for it.... don't worry, ur set is on official global rom.....

Cannot flash 32gb rom into 128gb.

Just maintain as 128gb china rom and install gapps.

It's not you won't get push totally. Just that it will be much more troublesome as you need to tweak the settings accordingly in order for proper push. Eg. such as toggle apps to auto start in security, don't restrict background activities under battery usage, and maybe lock Whatsapp in the background so that Whatsapp notification won't delay.

But other than push, there are some other problem I faced during my experience with MIUI china rom last time. Eg. Youtube 360/VR video doesn't work, snapchat filter doesn't work.
