randomly clicked in qoo10 and saw an offer for local set at $299. 4 sets left.
It says comes with 1 year local manufacturer warranty. Sounds good but I'm not sure if it's authentic.

it's under Time Sale

Yes, local set from Sim Lim. Not from local Xiaomi/SG.
In fact is $288 for gold color.

The shop is in Bugis Junction leh. Not sure if I selected the gold or silver colour earlier on, but it was $299. I clicked through and wanted to see if there were hidden costs. End up really $299 nett.

Anyway, it's already sold out.

Got try plug a USB drive to the port? Also need to be fat32?
As someone mentioned earlier, even external USB via OTG adapter needs to be in FAT32 format. This is one thing I disliked about Xiaomi devices. Last time used the Redmi 1 already had this issue. All my previous Androids (Samsung, Asus, Sony) have no issue read/write onto exFAT microSD cards or USB storage.

Just got mine! Haiz but gonna sell it, found the phone to be bigger than i expected it. Sad.

Lesson learnt - should have gone down to challenger to check it out before hooting it.
This reply is generally for those who think that the Mi Max is too big. I thought I had the same problem initially too.

1. Give it a try for a few days and see. Your hands will begin to adapt to the size.
2. The bare metal and glass are nice to look at but they feel slippery. So get a case and you'll feel safer handling the phone, not worrying it will slip and fall off.
3. If you still feel that the phone is too big to handle then maybe you can wrap a rubber band around the case and place the phone on top. See my pics on this in earlier posting. You then slip a finger under the rubber band and it gives you a firm and flexible handling then you don't even need to wrap the other edge.

The whole idea of this phone is BIG SCREEN, BIG BATTERY, BIG QUALITY AND BIG VALUE that all add up to the MAX. LOL

i certainly agree that the mi max is not that big that you cant handle. i have small hands and i find it manageble. in fact, after a month of use, it looks just normal. Human is good at normlisation. You will get use to it. trust me.

True. True. :)

Don't let the initial hugeness plays trick in your hands.

I guarantee after 2 weeks of constant usage, you will find it manageable and it is in fact, not that huge at all both for your hands, legs and eyes.

To me, the 6.44" is just so healthy for your eyes sight as well as for your fingers as far as surfing and texting are concerned. :)
