My phone will be in pocket when I am outside. Only on table when I sit down in the office doing reports etc or at home.

The screen size got very high user satisfaction level. More I use more I like it. The brightness and the color will not shy side by side with iphone or samsung. When play video..wow..:D Now I see all my friends 5.5 to 5.7 screen look bloody small in their hand.:s13:
I do use one-hand-mode in mrt or bus. The biggest OHM screen is 4.5' which is still bigger than my pre 4.3"..:s22:

I looking forward more mi mix design alike phones. minimize phone size with maximized screen. :s12:

I am using the Mi Max with the i-Ring ... something like this :

It really help makes using Mi Max with one hand easier.

Actually there's no need to put cotton wool. Guess you are removing it for use inside camera-prohibited zones (E.g army camps, etc).

If you've been stopped and asked to prove.... just open your camera app... it should show error message "Can't connect to camera".... that's enough proof..

It's same as what I did with my redmi note.

There is a video available on youtube, demonstrating camera removal...
(ignore the irritating sound effects) :

Another video (Just watch till the part involving mainboard cover(Metal cover), the 1st 55secs of the clip.... that's all)

Otherwise you can refer to here:

http://www.ihowfix.com/xiaomi-mi-max-teardown/

- removal of back cover (Be gentle, cos the fingerprint sensor module is stuck to the back cover)
- removal of fingerprint sensor module
- removal of top metal cover (Warranty void, breaking the small mi sticker on one of the screws securing the metal cover)
- taking out the 2 cameras near each other at top left of phone, then do the reverse to fix back.

Hope it helps..

You can use the YouTube video embedded function.

Fyi.

I have confirmed that my mi max has charging issue with most of the USB cable and charger that I tried. Found out that some users had been to the singapore service centre to fix this issue by replacing the USB charging port. Any idea how long they need to repair. A day or a few hours??

If you go there say before 6pm during weekday and not much queue, can be foxed within 3 hrs.

Not sure if there was an error on Newstar Eletronics qoo10 site or they are trying to clear tock. My friend managed to order the 64GB silver for $199 and delivery is on its way.

I didn't believe and I tried a moment ago and was able to order and made payment. Now waiting for delivery confirmation.

Only for the 64GB silver, gold doesn't have this price.

You also very funny. You found it that there are people going to the service centre to fix this problem. Yet, you choose to ask here where no one had reported this issue...
