I believe you don't need an unlock code for flashing.

What does unlocking do exactly? I just called Newstar to see if I could bring the set to the shop so they could help me flash to global rom but they said I need to request unlock code from xiaomi first and to give the unlock reason as moving from China to singapore to work. Hahaha. Why ah? Can somebody help explain? Is it the set is 'water goods'? Scared die me!

China to Global? You don't need to unlock

If China/global to 3rd party ROM like Cyanmodgen, you will need a bootloader unlock (though I managed to do without it).

In other words, you will never need to request xm for a bootloader unlock.

Your mileage might varies.

Gearbest prices are in USD, so don't be fooled.

I pre-ordered a phone from them in August, sent out only in November. End up the phone never arrive and I had to file a Paypal claim to get back my $ 'cos they said it's not their fault and don't want to refund me fully. Excuse given: "Shipper destroyed the item as it couldn't be delivered." Duh...

I'm looking to do a recontract with Singtel for MiMax or Sam A9 Pro, I browse few pages of this thread, noticed that someone here is using some tool to make this phone able to hold 2 SIM + 1 SD card at the same time, is that correct? If yes, then I might opt for MiMax.

That's a 3rd party add-on. One of the bros here bought from Taobao. You'll need to buy that add-on to make it work (on any supported phones).

Finally got my 64GB this week. My ROM is MIUI Global 8.0 | Stable 8.0.3.0

Is this the latest?

And I can only select CHINA in the Locale.

Finally manage to have 2 SIM and SDcard at the same time.

The device protruding out is thin enough to fit on a soft case. but i doubt will work on a hard case.

No need burn SIM card or super glue, just the device and a double sided tape

I think your set should be preloaded with global rom already. Just update it the the latest 8.1.6.0 for Mi Max Prime.

Yes. That's latest official global rom.

You just need to download the rom and follow the guides to MiFlash it to your phone and you will be happy poong pee pee...

Problem is... How come there no tsmpered glass protector tat can stick fully?? All my glass got bubble at the edge....

Do u guys use screen protector?

No such thing as downloading bootie.

You download the Fastboot rom and miflash it to your phone following those guides.

Not sure local online stores got sell or not but you can search and order from Aliexpress, Qoo10 and Lazada... Ships form China taking about 12 days to arrive.
