m using default xm rom n enabled everything I kn plus permission everything liao but still kana delayed for whatsapp n line notifications
hv to open the apps for the notifications to be pushed in

I will try the DEV ROM tonight. I will just have to read up and find out how.

If you use the Global ROMs may not have such problem, as it has Google CTS push services available, which apps like WhatsApp utilize for its push notification service.
CN Developer ROM may not have such a problem too, at least from one of my flashed Redmi 2.

used to owned a redmi note 3 local set with global rom
same issue too

The Wi-Fi drops because this model seems to have poorer reception when used behind a wall as compared to other brands like Samsung or Apple. And it likes to alternate between 2.4 and 5Ghz depending on the Wi-Fi strength. When I'm close to the router, it jumps to 5Ghz automatically.

i think you can't update global OTA to develop rom. At least I tried that with my mi4i, can't update, need to use miflash to flash with fastboot global rom.

what firmware are you using? The one I have is the one installed by Simder when I collected it. Notifications don't work on it properly. And I have to keep rebooting my phone at least once a day.

Anyone on the developer ROM? Can I update to Global ROM (when it comes out) from Dev ROM via OTA?

Yeah, I know there's no global rom for mi max. Those "global" rom in the mi max are probably downloaded from miui forum and simder flash into it.
Do a search in miui forum, many modified rom available.

For notification, can set the app to autostart.
Go to default security app...permission...autostart
and toggle the app you to enable autostart.
Then reboot and try

I just configured whatsapp autostart too, power off/on & tested, it worked!! Instant notification even after whatsapp is force-closed!!

Yeah, he did show it to me and mentioned Global ROM but I know better coz I've been checking the en.miui forum everyday.

Btw it's not a dig at Simder. It's a great shop and competitive pricing. I just wish they'd not resort to such sales tactics. Anyway, I really like the phone and I know how to flash 'em so.... no harm done.
