Help with Mi Max MIUI

Hi, newbie here. Just bought a Mi Max after using iPhone for many years.

Am having problems with the MIUI - Google Play store just doesnt work. Have tried some of the things mentioned on the Xiaomi forums without any success. Not sure if it is because I do not understand them, or what.

Looking for someone who can help please. Thank you.

Is your Mi Max running the China rom?

Google Playstore works well only witg Global rom.

Bro

You need to supply more info if you want your problem solved. Playstore doesn't work can mean many things. There should be something that you see on the screen right? Is it due to something that says cannot download due to Dxx-xx-blah error?

Try this.. Go to Settings > Other Accounts > Google > Remove your Google Account > Re-Add the same Google Account > Reboot > Try download in Playstore again. If it's the download error above, then this should solve it.

Else, a screenshot or two will go a long way to let us understand what's the issue.

I've been using 64GB version with Google Playstore without much issue (only Android Wear problem). So, it's not true that Playstore works well "only" with Global Rom.

Hmmm... I also don't see the option to enable the 3 fingers swap down to take screenshot in 8.0.1.0.?

Any good reasons to stay with Miui 8 beta than flash to global stable? I don't feel like wiping out the phone and redo all the installations again. Or is there a short cut to reinstall everything at one goes.

I would say just stay where you are now.

Beta always has more feature than stable.

Just a quick question guys. Very interested to make the switch over due to the big screen and longer battery life than iPhone 6plus.

Does it make more sense to get a 32GB and add an inexpensive sc card to boost up the memory space, or pay slightly more for 64GB directly? It seems that option 1 seems cheaper but other than the additional RAM for the 64GB, anything else different? Also, does the additional 1GB or RAM makes a lot of difference? I'm looking to surf net and read news only. No intensive gaming intended.

Hope to hear all your views before I decide which one to buy. Thanks. Yes, new code out, hurry30 for $30 off.

64gb is still 3gb ram.. Only 128gb is 4gb ram..

Just download the recovery zip to phone and use the phone updater to flash, it should work and everything should be intact. Do remember to backup important things first.

Or just like bro kelvinti mentioned, beta always more features than stable, so if u like more features, stay put.

Think getting 128gb then sell my 64gb. Or maybe wait patiently for 2nd gen mi max (if it ever comes out).
