That's the problem with seller custom modified ROM. It's actually China ROM re-labelled with 'Global' text. You can't get any OTA updates using the modified ROM. For 64GB will need to flash to China stable or beta ROM to get future updates.

Yes. You are damn right bro. :

So, even those bros who have a China rom or "Global" rom for 64 or even 32 models, it is always advisable to perform a reinstall or reflash using the official rom for the first time, and that one time can save you from possible troubles as time goes on.

Coz we don't know how they get the rom be it official rom or custom / modified rom.

How and where you get your Mi Max?

Some seller rooted the Mi Max, preloaded unofficial or midified rom thus Pokeman Go hates it! :o

I think there is nothing you can do now but just wait for Xiaomi to release the official Global Stable ROM for 64GB model...

I'm not sure will it be released or not as Xiaomi only sells the 32GB as an "International" model.

The 64/128GB is strictly a China domestic models at press time, thus the only official rom is China ROM without Google and PlayStore pre-installed.

The only help you can get now is to ask a Guru here to help you to install Google Services and Playstore.

Not that bad afterall if your 64GB can run Google Service and Store likes on the official 32GB Global ROM model.

**Me, don't know how to install Google thingy on a China ROM Mi Max..SO please don't ask me...:D=:p

OIC!:) That's good!:s22:

Then, okay lah! You can use Google services. Just stay with the current ROM then.

You can't do much to flash to Global ROM afterall at the moment.

For your case, nothing to worry coz so far so good that Smartcell does a honest job of installing a proper and official rom for every set it sold even it is a China set. :)

Afterall, a roti prata has already preloaded with official Global Stable rom out of the factory. :)

This is the case for 32GB model.

Smartcell doesn't sell 64/128GB at the moment...
