It will be a wipe out flashing to official rom.

Who did you buy from? I guess the seller is not trustworthy then.

Hi, why did you say so?

We goondu here also know how to flash a proper official china rom or global rom in less than 5 minutes and at home using our own pc.

The seller, being in this China phone business should know better and should has flashed a proper official China rom for the buyers and not some crappy modified rom that would not get any official firmware updates for the rest of the active life of the handsets.

Can't they be more responsible to flash a proper official rom for buyers?

There are other good and responsible sellers out there that do a proper flashing of official china rom or even global rom before they deliver the sets to buyers.

The seller could just preload the Google Play Store for you on the China ROM, but instead he decided to load a modified ROM instead.

Modified ROM may come with more ads and possibly security issues.

Exactly!

That seller could just load a proper official China rom and preload Google thingy for your 64GB instead of modified ROM.

is China ROM = crappy modified ROM?

Nope!

An official china rom is a proper one in which it is for the chinese domestic consumers.

It will get official OTA updates wherever you are. :)

Crappy modified China or global rom are unfinished, unpolished and unpublished rom of Xiaomi. In most cases, the phone has got be to rooted for such installation and that's no good for the security and stability of your phone.

How to rectify this problem? Planning to get a 64GB/128GB export set may also bump into such problem.

Coz yours is a modified rom. It is an unauthorized or unrecognisible firmware. Now you see the big problem of such modified rom...

If they do that more future problems for themselves. Customers who factory reset they phones will go back and complain why google apps disappeared. Might as well flash a stable modified rom with no issues.

I have a simder modified global rom and I have no complaints except for the lack of updates.

Signing in and syncing with google with no issues as well.

China rom with gapps still need to meddle with the settings for syncing to work properly. Not as easy as a global rom.

Yap agree that too.... just that "possible" security thingy is a bit concerns that is about all...

The security thingy is not like doing internet banking and the phone took away all the $$ right?...............:s13:
