yeah, so strange that Xiaomi decide to let the Redmi series go to telco channels but not its flagship..

our market is still not that inclined to no contract phones yet..

Coming from mi note 1, always wanted to get 2 over the mi5s+ that I eventually got.

But there were supply issues I think, even the usual xiaomi resellers don't really stock this phone. and some quality issues about its screen.

Prices never came down and hovered at ~2x the price I got my mi5s+, cannot justify the price difference when 80% of the specs is similar...

If xiaomi never launched the mi5s+, this would have sold a lot better.

IMO, the benchmark for budget flagship is oneplus (3T in this case).

If xiaomi wants to price it higher that op3t, it better be significantly better. Which in this case note2 is not.

I got the mi5s+ because I preferred the bigger screen, bigger battery and in my case, MIUI. And 20% (~$100) cheaper.

Mi Store was there to reply to buyers to inform them to go down to Suntec Mi Home to obtain their local power adapter. Wah they really just sell Chinese stocks straight?

This phone came a little too late as MI note 3 is in the horizon. Not sure why xiaomi is pushing phone models like crazy but N is not even working properly on their flagship phones.

Must be clearing stocks, because Mi Note 2 not selling that well also even though now it's available in China with ready stocks..

During the first few months after the release, the Mi Note 2 was hyped out but stocks were hard to obtain. When stock is readily available, it's no longer hyped anymore..

Just got a set from suntec outlet ytd.

Switched on the wireless hotspot and saw the default SSID is "I am Gay."

Screenshot it and emailed their support.

Gonna see what's their reply.
