How can I get to the latest version 102.1? MIUI version setting unclickable

Hello everyone,

If someone can help. I have a recently bought MIUI version 10.1 Mi pad 4 plus. How can I get to the latest version 10.2.1? I followed as in the youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvmJvYxENr8) but I am always stuck at the part 0.24s video, I have no respond click on MIUI version. (The thunder sign never show up).

i already done a factory reset, but it never starts at 9.2.21 (first version), it starts at 10.1.

When i receive my set from China. It looks new but unsealed. Seller said - because they do a Customize ROM (no idea what it meant).

As I learn from the guy in the youtube video, there's a tool called Mi Flash. What I believe is, the seller flash the MIUI to one that can have Google Play. In the process, the MIUI will forever be the same (only can upgrade with Mi Flash). I can't use Mi Flash as it runs on Window, also it might have a small risk getting Mi pad being bricked.

What I did is follow this youtube.

I just checked mine, I cannot find the tab to do direct update. My Mui is the latest stable rom version.

No point flashing developer ROM as the difference is not much after I googled for the difference. In fact there is a slight risk using developer rom because there could be some unstable apps or processes you have to face.

Hello Broadwalk,

I can't have an accuracy answer on battery span as I just received my mi pad 4 plus. The initial use to set up using the existing battery span doesn't impress. I only have Red Mi note 4 (known for long battery span) to compare. NOT Apple to Apple but the Red Mi note 4 battery life span does impress.

I suppose like Apple phones, only charge till 80%

I think for ROM update, just load the files from Mi website and update as what my video shows. Unlike your video link, mine is all pre set up from the box, I choose English language and the usual start up setting. My Google play is already ready to use in English.

My mipad 4 has updated to latest stable rom version 10.2.1 as soon as I completed the setup as shown in YouTube after installing google play, my mipad shows there is an update available and I went ahead to update.

After reading yours mine is seal option. I bought from Fxner. bought at 280+ sgd and requested for sealed box one and do everything as in YouTube.

FYI I watch many YouTube before decided which YouTube to follow. the Jayce Ooi I feel his video is not reliable so I skipped his instruction and choose the one I shared here,, decision made was based on the clarity of instruction and the reading in various thread and I find this YouTube is closest and relevant to what I read and watch thus far.

After updated my mipad I don’t see any additional setting in miui that allows me to manually upload the downloaded rom and besides I don’t really need developer rom.

I also have a Redmi note 4 and I have updated to latest miui stable rom faster and easier similar to my mipad but maybe it’s old phone so battery draining is evident.

It cannot make any phone call using TPG i think.

Btw can u get a lock on gps location for google map? If yes, can u share the permission setting? I cant get mine to work

I tried and seems I have same issue as you? but I also tried the find mipad function and it works when I enable mi account and gps. later I will try to bring the pad out and see if it works outside of the house.

Try using the Waze app, does seem to detect my location.

I finally managed to get the GPS.

What I did is to follow sibehHL to install waze and use a-gps. Then I open google map and purposely keyed in my teban address while checking for gps. Then I left it there for a while then I turn on and let it search again. Then suddenly it works. Now I have GPS and certify is working. Feel nice now.

When open google map first then GPS is searching.
I went to GPS permission and set it all.
Then I use waze and let waze search GPS. One thing is I went out of flat and it seems mipad 4 needs to be outside of flat or near window panel facing outside then GPS will be located.

Where do u find the permission for gps?
