The GPS is fixed for China locations only... it won't log onto Singapore locations...

Its an issue even on my Redmi Note 7 where Grab cant detect my location even with my GPS switched on. Went to miui forum and found out that its a common issue with China rom due to Google’s framework and the GPS for certain apps can only lock-in in China.

I have China rom on Redmi note 4x before. Works fine. It could be your phone has a defective GPS chip.
However, it is quite common for Xiaomi phone to lost GPS signal even with Global rom. Sometime you just need to reboot the phone.

No such thing.

That's what I got from the MIUI forums too... but GPS has been a significant issue with Xiaomi devices from the number of posts there and even here... and not just from China ROM phones...

It's a common issue on Redmi Note 7 with China rom. One solution is to flash it to EU rom and GPS will be working again so definitely not hardware fault.

Just pay for a longer warranty lor... but note that the warranty is only by the seller... I don't know if they can repair or replace your device in Singapore... or they send it back to China to get it fixed... expect delays for claiming warranty basically...

yup..send back to finer in SZ...but they will pay you back the postage (as qoo credit)...

bad news is, I send in before CNY and there was super delay...(send in 5th Jan from SG, and arriving back to me in a few days time).

what I can said is that, finer is steady...very responsive in my qoo message with him/her/them.

Thanks for sharing. Nice to hear that Finer is responsible. Anyway, CNY lar... what to do... getting the phone back from China in a few days sounds like superb turnaround time already... how many days did you have to wait for the phone to be repaired and then returned to your doorstep?

Seems like it's better to buy from finer then those SLS seller lol. Good thing they honor their warranty.

i agree with u. i doubt they are in sls.. anyway i previously asked a qns abt gps locked on google map. those using lte model, help me see see can get a lock anot leh.. still mentally troubled by it.
