Was about to ask the forums whether it is worth buying the Mi Pad as a home device since my laptop died. Saw the comments and it seems like its not worth it?

For me it's still okay for casual web surfing and Facebook.
The screen is quite good quality too.

no tablet, incl ipad, "could" replace laptop unless its for surfing.
At S$299 (wifi), it ok
Pre-loved set at S$210

as mentioned, by some, a Tab S, better display and more accessories, might be worth to consider

just flash it with CM11 and you'll have no complaint.

laptop & tablet quite different, different form factor; also in this case, different OS [windows/mac vs android]

should google around to see mi pad reviews; the mi pad has more issues compared to xiaomi phones

yeah i was the one who recommended it.. that goes wayyyyyy long ago since last year August when i got my mipad...

anyway the app used to be called Limelight, now is call moonlight game streaming..

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.limelight&hl=en

it function exactly the same as nvidia shield streaming... you need a relatively good router and stable network connection to achieve 60fps.. coupled with a ipega 9023 tablet controller and you get yourself a killer gaming tablet...

After flashing cm 11, my home button doesn't work like normal. In app, when I press the home button, it doesn't close the app as I expected, instead if I was typing it will just move the cursor to the front.

Did I flash the wrong version?

I tried the 20150327-UNOFFICIAL-mocha and 20150430-UNOFFICIAL-mocha versions. Both didn't work.

And I did wiped and reflash a few times too.
