I never success with kingroot

Try to use 360root, I rooted before so when I update fw still remain rooted, no sure 1.3.8 can or not...

I think I rooted my Mi TV 2 55 before. But how to check?

If use kingroot i know how to change the supersu...and also install xposed without custom recovery...for 5.1.1 also can...i will update once i get it rooted...

Xposed can use to block ads from youtube...

For other free iptv with ads can use adaway apk...

Will write a post on all the details with picture to help everyone here and also else where...too many help on the mibox...

Also if theres anything to share please let me know so i can write a huge post on mitv...i already have one on xiaomi forum...but i never update...till now...

Apks or iptv which are stable will help alot...

And google play...im still waiting for someone...only my youtube leanback apk and google play games apk can log in to account...

@pspeter in settings can use the option to install all apks in flashdrive...im using usb 3.0 128gb type so its faster...and the internal will not be full..

Wah, if you really succeed in installing PlayStore to work, then ho say liao.

just to confirm need to format to fat32...i was using exfat and ntfs...

Also mine did not finish installing...about 20% boot out into a new recovery menu...but system 2 still wont work...

System 1 still 1.2.0 - did not update...

Factory reset from mitv setting...still the same...
Wipe all data from recovery still the same as well...

Ok guys its updating

The stupid thing i did was rename the zip to update.zip

Cause i was trying it on exfat and ntfs and tried to adb sideload update.zip...then after i format my flashdrive to fat32 i didn't rename it back...

Make myself look stupid...

@pspeter sorry bro...hahaha...anyway can update your video in description to add that flashdrive format to fat32...so people won't make my mistake

The unlock ADB my wife found out about it...she press anyhow then get...hahahaha

I manage to root with kingroot 4.5.0 on mitv 2 1.3.8 android 5.1.1

I will upload the apk as it's not the lastest version and i use this version to use terminal emulator to change to superSU...

Edit: Xposed sdk 22 does work...went into bootloop just now because was using older xposed sdk 22 version...will update again

you can changed the DNS of the mitv to bypass china geo block contents without rooting..

how come stuck? Did you root your tv and reset? It could be root still active...

So far i haven't seen mitv3 firmware...
