how do i free up more ram ?
I only use like runkeeper and music player only the rest I closed already

As of now, I don't think much can be done to optimize RAM on MIUI Ver 5 however, let's hope MIUI Ver 6 (which is around the corner) brings in better RAM optimization.

I understand Ver 6 has various linux kernel & RAM optimization techniques used which allow applications to run more smoothly. Let's hope that this solves the problem.

All whistles & bells including the changelog of Ver 6 can be viewed at the following link -

This is not the thread to buy and sell. Please go to the garage for that.

Personally, the Redmi 1 or Redmi 1S attracted me were its price and dual SIM.

Maybe some people fail to read that the next generation with LTE highly single slot SIM.

There's a new update, JHCMIBF36.0 for Redmi 1S.
Anyone updated to it? It seems to have solved the camera to SD card issue.

:)

SIM2 - Singtel GSM (non-3G) just for voice and SMS.
SIM1 - m1 3G data

How to make sure that the SIM2 will not use data?
The step by step instruction;
1) go to settings
2) Press Mobile Networks
3) Press Data Enable
4) Make sure that the Enable button is on. If not, slide it to On.
5) Select Sim 1, which is your M1.
Your phone will only use data from the SIM 1 card.

To further ensure that your SIM2 doies not use data accidentally
1) Select Security Icon
2) Select Data Usage
3) press the button on the top right corner (which look like a wheel)
4) Under SIM 2 , select the Mobile data limit
5) select Peak data limit
6) change from MB to B
7) set data usage limit to 1
Your SIM 2 card is now only allow to use 1 byte (or 0.001 kB) per month.

Great, thanks for the help!! at least there is a way to save and don't accidentally use the data from singtel and have to pay for the high charges.

first time playing with this phone, found that the instruction is a bit insufficient.
