Is redmi 3 different from redmi note 3?

Quite different.
The Redmi Note 3 can be thought of as an upgraded Redmi 3 in every regard,
from a much higher performing modern SOC (the Snapdragon 650) as opposed to the Snapdragon 616 (iirc) which is a few years back.

There's a larger screen and a finger print sensor found on the Note 3 as well - making it comparable to flagships of 2015 / 2016.

There's a qoo10 seller selling Redmi 3, Redmi 3S, Redmi 3S Pro, Redmi 3 Pro. Can anyone care to tell the differences between them? Gsmarena doesn't really tell me much (or maybe I didn't read carefully...)

Also, how is the fingerprint sensor on the Redmi 3/Xiaomi phones compared to other brands/higher end Xiaomi eg Mi5?

I read the previous posts and found out that there are beta CM13 roms for the Redmi 3, has anyone flashed the rom? Are most of the features working with every update?

Thanks

Ah I know why there's a Global ROM for Redmi 3, because recently Xiaomi emerged to the Bangladesh market and they introduced three phone models to the market, which includes the Redmi 3.

Redmi 3 and Redmi 3 Pro are basically the same phone, just that 3 is a 2GB/16GB model while the 3 Pro is a 3GB/32GB model, and comes with fingerprint sensor too.

Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Pro are also basically the same model too. 3S is a 2GB/16GB while 3S Pro is a 3GB/32GB, both comes with fingerprint sensor.

Redmi 3 features a SD616, while Redmi 3S features a SD430.

Hmm speaking on this, it's quite fun haha~

SD616 raw performance will be better than the SD430, but the SD430 has a better GPU and better efficiency level, which will mean it will have a slightly better battery life too.
SD430 also feature an improved image sensor processor too and supports X6 LTE.

The upcoming Redmi 4 will be featuring the SD625, so if you can wait then see if you prefer the 4 or 3S or 3.

from the youtube videos, both are about the same speed sia. the only good thing about sd 430 version is the better ram management (2gb ram 430sd vs 3gb ram 616

Upgraded to the global developer rom on MUI 8. Seems a better, without the issues of hanging/out of memory. But still Lollipop. GPS had some issue as I flash it with the data intact (had to clear the GPS data separately)

Step 1: Apply for MIUI unlock permissions. http://en.miui.com/unlock/
You will receive a SMS in about 1 or 2 days

Step 2: Download and run MIUI unlock software
http://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html
If you have more than 1 Xiaomi phone tied to your MIUI account, it might give an error, so delete other profiles.

The bootloader will then be unlocked
