Maybe the ROM version is the problem?
I've been using various xiaomi phones since 3 years ago (all bought with local service centre warranty so all authentic Global ROM), no issue with notifications at all.

Global rom no issue... We are talking about the China Rom here... Redmi 6 Pro will never be released with MIUI global rom as it is now released as Mi 2 Lite with Android 1 UI.. So those of us who bought Redmi 6 Pro have to live with China Rom or try other ways

Do not buy redmi 6A, very slow phone from experience
Which phone were you using before? If you were using a high end phone then Redmi 6A will seem very slow to you. I have been using Redmi 4A and 5A so I think 6A is more or less the same.

For the Redmi 6 model, seems like it has triple cards support unlike its predecessor, the Redmi 5. But the down sides are no gyroscope sensor and IR blaster.
哈哈 .... add one plus point & take away two .... xiaomi is really damn good at this sort of tricks yo..

dont compare redmi 6 with redmi 5.

redmi 6 is the successor of redmi 4, not that big ass pointless redmi 5.

i dont even know why redmi 5 exist when the 5 plus is barely bigger, barely pricier but much better.
or why the 5 plus even exist if the note 5 which is simply a better phone releases in the next 3 months.

Also the phone with triple card slot is the redmi 6 pro / mi a2 lite, not redmi 6 or redmi 5.

Today I watched a YouTube video on xm redmi 6 variant .... with two separate SIM card trays.
One tray is for one nano SIM card .... and the other tray is for one nano SIM card & another separate compartment for one dedicated microSD card.

But the deal breaker is this model is without two important sensors .... the gyroscope sensor & that trademark Xiaomi IR blaster. What's the point? Don't make any sense at all .... except only to prey on those naive and novice users..

Seeking some advice. Need a phone for work. Very basic functions needed, such as phone calls and sms.
Redmi 6A, 6 and 6 Pro. Too many choices. Just want to know what is not bad and not ex.

Slow phone is for slow people .... fast phone is for fast people lah. Simple logic applies here.
Real problem is that hybrid SIM card tray..
Redmi 6A has 3 slots. 2 sim + 1 sd.

I always use the cheapest phone for work since no phone subsidy or phone allowance.
But the new phones all 4g+3g dual SIM so actually can consider a better one and use 1 slot for personal line and 1 slot for work line.

Redmi 6 Global Version supports 2SIM+1SD:

Redmi 6 China Version supports either 2SIM or 1SIM+1SD.

You can consider the Redmi S2 then.

Has 2SIM+1SD card tray and the two sensors you want.

The Global Version of Redmi 6A supports 2SIM+1SD, but the China Version of Redmi 6A support either 1SIM+1SD or 2SIM only.

What's the main difference between 6, 6A and S2? Which one is good for secondary phone? Not for gaming.

6A is the cheapest among the three, and has the lowest specs.

S2 has better specs, with better front camera and better processor. Both the 6 and S2 has the same dual camera, but the S2 is bigger in size (S2 has a 5.99" screen, 6 has a 5.45" screen).

If you want to get a secondary phone, would recommend either the S2 or 6.

Thanks. I am not a fan of larger screen so will most probably go for 6 instead.
