Mi 5 not likely, since Snapdragon 820 hasn't went to mass production yet.

I used my prime version one month+, if you wait for local prime set, maybe wait for one month+. The diff is you buy early, you use early.

no significant differences other than warranty. ROMs & Softwares like gapps can be installed

Local set with local warranty and global rom which include google play etc.
Hopefully there is no hardware different.

All china phones by default do not have any google apps de. Google Play, Google Maps, Google Chrome, Google Search etc etc. If you bring your non-China phones like Apple, Samsung etc, you will know none of the google apps work there de. Unless you vpn.

Ok, the most impt difference for China domestic sets and Singapore local sets is the OS. China sets get the China rom, while Singapore sets get the global or Singapore rom. So unless you die die want to get the 32gb Prime which Singapore does not sell currently, then be mentally prepared to know your China phone. Back then when I got my Prime, it was my first time getting China phones. It took me a couple of days of testing and asking in forums before I find out the best and correct way to do it.

Can not be mi5. SD820 hasnt released. The so-called secret phone is Redmi 2A which price dropped to RMB499. You see xiaomi Sino Weibo then you can see it.
