Can try this if u prefer hard case

http://world.tmall.com/item/521249126704.htm?id=521249126704

Received it yest, speaker and camera cutout is perfect. Lightweight n feels good on hand, only issue is it doesnt cover front top n bottom of phone.

Thx for the link, but I'm not sure how to order from a china site as I've never done it before and can't read Chinese at all!

Also I find that the original dark grey back casing now is kinda slippery to hold as it is.

U can use 65daigou to order, copy n paste the link click buy-for-me, everything is in english. They help u buy from taobao, u pay them item+shipping n agent fee.

If not just buy from aliexpress, should be more hassle free.

Since MIUI 6, Xiaomi have removed the function to allow apps to move to sd card due to security reasons. By default, all apps are installed on the internal phone storage(that is why phone rom space matters). However, you can still move apps to sd card but it requires you to root your phone and download apps that help to facilitate moving of apps to sd card. Not to mention possible instability issue.

They use security as a reason to explain Miui limitation. We should be more concern if personal data is on SD card vs application. There is also something call encryption on SD card which is available to many Andriod phone but not in Xiaomi.

Ermm....i am not sure if you know much about the android system....this has nothing to do with MIUI limitation. Over the years as cyber attack grew, companies realised that by not allowing apps to move to sd card by default, helps to protect the non tech savvy masses in general as they have no idea about android security or even how it functions as an os system. Hence the this choice was adopted by many mobile companies whereby apps cannot be move to sd card by default but acheiveable via root instead so that tech savvy user still have a choice. This was also in line with new rules set out by google to remove root be default for android due to the increasing cyber attacks. Encryption on a phone doesn't really matter today. Instead what one should be more concerned about is how secured are our networks are. Someone who is able to intrude into your network can do things remotely and this is far more important as they can make a copy of your files and slowly decrypt on their end rather than trying to access your device physically and try to decrypt the files. In case you do not know too, encryption has already been introduced in MIUI 7 for the whole phone. It will be rolled out to stable soon after the test in dev rom.

Unfortunately you can't. The design of the music widget has been there for quite awhile already since previous versions of MIUI.

Actually the music widget in the notification center started from MIUI 6 onwards. Thw previous MIUI iterations doesn't have it there by default

Sent from my Rice phone using GAGT

Depends on how you look at it. The concept is for music widget to be quick accessed via the menu. In MIUI5 we had it at the lockscreen but users wanted more so in MIUI6 it was placed at the notification area so that users could access music player without physically trying to look for the music app while they were doing whatever task they had at hand.

I watched YouTube link from edmw thread and the thread title stayed in the music widget. This is so irritating. :(

First of all, not the whole application is installed on SD. Programmer can chose. My Samsung @ 5.1.1 still able to install application on SD. Best, there is option to put on encryption on SD. Something I cannot find from Miui.

I am not sure you understand the method of encryption. btw, if your phne get attacked. It does not matter if you application/data is in phone memory or SD.

Lol. As i have said already, encryption only prevents your file from being read as long as one does not have the key but it doesn't mean one can't transfer the file. You seem to not understand how encryption of sd card on phone works. Samsung encryption has in fact been criticised by users. True, samsung has the encryption feature but what they fail to highlight too is that if the phone breaks down, the sd card is deemed useless as well since the key to read the file is in the phone. Samsung also do not provide recovery of the key for you to decrypt the files so effectively a dead phone means a dead sd card. This is something that MIUI device team has considered thus limiting the encryption to the phone only.

This is the whole purpose of encryption and security. Ie no one can read. If data is important. You should have backup somewhere else.
