Yep I already have a Redmi 2, which is 4g+2g. Was hoping the Redmi Note 2 would have 4g+4g.

Game over in Apr 2017, when telcos shut off the 2G network..

In fact, you may notice 2G coverage started to disappear recently. My guess is it will be gone in most area by 2016. The frequency band is needed for 4G cat 9.

Since double tap to wake is not ready, you can use Gravity Screen - On/Off as alternative.

It turns automatically the screen off when you put your phone into your pocket or onto a table. And turns the screen on when you take it out or up. No need to touch any button and you are ready to go. It's especially helpful if your lock key is hard to reach or the power button is broken.

For those who experience high battery drain, could you please do this test for me ? Sign out of YouTube, charge your phone to 100% and see if there is improvement. Thanks.

Hi

Asking for my friend. She got a redmi note 2 16GB china set. So now is with china rom. She wanna flash to the global rom.

Tried the flashing guide here on mi forum. http://en.miui.com/download-274.html

But she got this error.
"Install update.zip failed!"
update.zip signature verification failed.

What or is there any additional step need to do to flash the phone to global rom?

Thank you.

What's her china MIUI ROM version?

For my case, mine was MIUI V6.7.2.0 (LHMCNCH). I got problem directly from china rom to global stable V7.0.12 (believe we can't directly go to V7.0.12 from china rom).

So what I did was flashed to the developer rom =>miui_HMNote2Global_5.11.12_3eeec798f4_5.0.zip

From 5.11.12, then proceed to the global stable V7.0.12. Remember to rename the rom to Update.zip and flash it through Updater => Choose update package.

You can. Did it for my friend. Do not need to go developer rom first.

Lmao, all misleading each other.

Sigh....

Here is how to convert from China Rom to SG Rom.

Backup your data onto sd card or computer first.

Download the latest global stable tar file from here: http://goo.gl/45IHWJ

Once the file is downloaded, you need to extract it two times in order to get the image file.

Next, follow the instructions from here http://en.miui.com/a-234.html and flash the image file.

You can choose to flash all or flash all except data and storage, you ownself choose but i prefer clean install to prevent app issues. Best to flash all!

Simple as that. Also take note after flash successfully, remember to go to updater, click the three dots, boot to recovery mode and clear data cache to prevent errors as china rom and global rom differs greatly in the coding so just clear the cache can.

For the signature verification issue, it is ongoing and unlikely to be resolved as it has been months already. Flashing via recovery is not the best method but rather fastboot is recommended as some people uses custom recovery and etc always cause problems...

Kk....so simple.....:s13:
