I noticed all the rom files here are tgz formats, which unlike the roms here are zip formats. Am I correct to say that I cannot use these official roms from Miui???

Because when I reach the step 4, i do not see the same things then i realised I arent using the same file....

Tgz file format is correct. These are fastboot rom files. You just need to extract the file twice in order to obtain the image file. Then make sure when using MiFlash, you open the image file can liao. Rom files that are in zip format are known as recovery rom files which is different from fastboot rom files.

OIC... Which means the fastboot rom are only the "Stable Fastboot Rom China Unicom[Unicom]" and "Stable Fastboot Rom China Mobile[TD]", and we should be using the former, correct?
Btw, I notice the file name is Hermes V6.6.7.0. Correct one? Btw, how do I tell which of this fastboot rom is the latest??? From this page its V6.6.7.0, while this page is V.7.0.8.0.

Wah, its downloading damn slow at less 20kb/s.... :'( I can get 1mb/s for the recovery rom files de...

Have you try it? I tried with Win10.

If you say Win10 you encountered this issue, I can only say yes for Mi Suite it doesn't work as they are still coding the suite for Win10. This is driver issue and not phone issue. Other than that, it is working.

Hey guys, intending to buy the note 2 from the local online store.. Anyone can share what's the cons on using this phone? If I read trough properly, the WhatsApp notification not showing until you open the app still happens right?

Same here. New with Note 2 for a week. Whatsapp message delayed if phone not used for a while. Looking for solution. This is the only program I installed to this phone other then those shipped with the OS.

Answered before

Btw its a small red lock icon, not x

go to home screen

press bottom left menu to open list of active apps

scroll to whatsapp icon, and drag it downwards. you will see a red (x) appear on the top of the icon.

done!

it's nothing to do with clearing of cache, it's that your unused apps are being terminated. doing the above locks the whatsapp in and prevents it from being terminated by these cleaning actions

By the way I noticed some theme will not show notifications when on standby. Using the default theme OK.
