Hi guys, I need some help here. I bought my redmi note 2 (32gb) from taobao website and there are tons of bloatware which is consuming a lot of my battery.

After reading the threads in MIUI forums on removing the bloatware, I'm really confused if I should root or flash my phone. Below is a screenshot of my profile. Any help will be appreciated! thanks in advance!

I am currently on global 5.12.10. I am tweaking some of the minor configurations that were not able to restore, but its not anything tough as most of the layouts and apps were restored nicely. One of the major improvement with this firmware is that I finally can use the theme app le, which previously don't know why doesn't load. But I notice the ringtone theme seems to be still down. hmm....

I will have to monitor how much difference the global rom is for small details like the whatsapp and pebble app which will sleep automatically. I am hoping the sleep to death will be gone too.

Once again, i have to thank clay9477 again. :)

I suggest you go better not key in any google stuff on that rom. That rom is a third party tampered rom. You definitely did not buy from Xiaomi Tmall but from third party. Suggest you logout from google account and change password ASAP.

Headover to Miui forums go to downloads. Make sure you choose Redmi Note 2 Global.

You have two choices, global dev weekly or stable rom. Stable rom has less bugs meant for fuss free experience while global dev more of getting the latest feature but risk of running into unexceptable bugs at time. Difference between the two roms is global dev gets updated bi weekly while stable gets updated at least once a month.

I just noticed a new problem. I am using China set Redmi Note 2 Prime with global developer rom 5.12.10. My GPS cannot seem to locate me, Google map, Facebook location doesn't load...
Anyone face the same issue?

Seems like it could be my GPS. It was not sensitive at all when I was inside Liang Court, but it worked after I got on the bus.

Btw, some quick updates on the global developer rom 5.12.10. The whatsapp has been quite smooth not locking out. The reason why I am able to tell because I am on my laptop WhatsApp web at the same time and I barely see any disconnection.

I went to the service centre for my Miband problem. The CSO upon seeing my phone is on 5.12.10, he says this must be the problem because its beta. He encourages flashing sg rom 7.0.12.0. But I told him I was on China developer rom miui before the Miband stopped to record the stats back in Nov. No choice, he gives me Miband from behind (not sure new or refurbished) and says then I can take a replacement to test. Now I am charging it, hope the new dongle works...

As for the so called sg rom, I asked him where to download since its not in the miui website. No idea, may take months, may never upload...
What??????

Anyone got the IR working ? I notice that when I trying to assign the TV model, the IR actually does not light up (test using a phone camera, you can see IR via the camera).
