Sorry to ask another question here bros.

Anyone using original pebble watch with redmi note 2? Can't seem to receive WhatsApp notification on my watch. I've locked both WhatsApp and pebble app in the app drawer. Enabled autostart permission for both too..
I'm running on stable global rom.

Yes. I am using the watch too. Previously I have the disconnection problem when my phone was on China developer rom. But I have switched to global developer rom, the connection is quite stable. Not sure is it because I have deleted all data then i flashed to the global developer rom which makes it more stable.
As for the whatsapp, its definitely a lot more online than previous china developer rom as well. Just curious, your Red Mi Note 2 is local Singapore set or China imported set?

Yes. Always use a global rom because most of our push notifications come from Google play services.

I'm having doubts about dev rom since it might have bugs etc. I'm using this phone as a daily. Got it locally. Did you try to meddle with any settings?

You have to tell me what settings you want to see, I can try to show you.

I guess so far the only differences I can tell is that my phone is the China set 32gb Prime on global developer rom 5.12.10.

So far so good, at least the below issues are no longer surfacing.

  • sleep to death
  • whatsapp not appearing
  • Pebble app not connecting
  • theme app not loading

I just tested, I can receive calls notification on the watch but other than that I can't. Tried to test the notification via support tab, everything is working fine..

Yes, I have that exclamation mark too.
Just tested. Sms, whatsapp, email all received on the watch. Try rebooting the phone and watch, forget the connection on the phone and watch.

I'll give it a go later and get back to the thread.

Update: Still doesn't work. I restarted both phone and watch, reinstall the pebble app too. I enabled permissions for the app too, enable it for autostart permission too. Locking in the app in the ram/app drawer doesn't seem to work too.

Interesting, Redmi Note 2 Prime all out of stocks already on Xiaomi China and Tmall. Seems like Xiaomi starting to halt productions of Redmi Note 2. Not bad, sell for 4 months only, sold millions.

I think the pebble app seems more random problem than whatsapp. Yesterday I wore it to work, it siao siao disconnect and connect... sometime even when connected it won't vibrate also. If see this, I will forget the connection then reboot, the connection will seem smoother. While whatsapp seems to lose connection so much less frequent that it's not that obvious.

I think the Redmi Note 2 Prime is one of their most affordable and acceptable performance phone. Benchmark wise it can match Redmi Note 3, and personally I prefer the former more because of the removable battery and expendable memory.
Got it early at $280, I think use for 1 year+ will worth le.

Is it still worth to get the Redmi Note 2 now? Any problems y'all facing on your SG Note 2? :)

I am not sure about the rest, but for me ever since I flashed my Redmi Note 2 Prime to the global developer rom, everything seems quite fine already. I am currently on 5.12.24 for 2 days, still monitoring any problems compared to 5.12.10

You have to weigh the pros and cons between the two bah. Below are some of the pros I know for each model, but there may be more than that...

Redmi Note 2 Prime
  • Expandable memory
  • removable battery

Redmi Note 3
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • 3GB ram

I just checked Mi tmall, they seem to be OOS for Redmi Note 2 Prime, not sure if its temporary OOS or its removed for sale le.
Price wise, Redmi Note 2 Prime is around 100rmb cheaper than Redmi Note 3.

I see, because my father seems interested to get the Redmi Note 2 and want to ask about the experience. Is the battery life okay for your Note 2 Prime?

Haha software wise we be supported far longer than Redmi Note 3. There is almost i can't remember how many million of Redmi Note 2 sold, their aim was 10million but of course didn't hit but somewhere around 3~4mil. Like Redmi 1S super long support because user database too big.

XD go back Redmi Note 3 thread, dont come taunt us here. Haha.
