Are you assessing this function via xiaomi own folder app or a 3rd part app? I have no problem if using the former.
i'm using es file explorer as well as mx player. i jus tried using the xiaomi own app and it works. but is there any way for third party to work as well? w/o rooting of cuz.

Nope. Actually its not Mi problem, its Android. Anything from Kitkat and above, you will have this "problem" to delete files. But luckily miui has managed to allow their default folder app to bypass this "problem"

Redmi series really not worth to replace any parts lor IMO, it may cost you like $100?

Btw. I am trying to set up lite mode on my old Redmi for my mother. In the lite mode, it does not display battery percentage at the top. Is there anyway to resolve this?

I was at their service centre recently to check my Miband which was not synchronizing to my phone. The few customers before me either have problems with motherboard or audiojacks hardware issues. Without warranty, the cso told them its not that worth to repair because its more cost effective to get a new one which will come with a new 1 year warranty. So you can say its more like experience and opinion. I do agree, especially for Redmi series which are mostly on the lower price range.

I remember 2years ago my HTC phone needed to change a new motherboard, and I was quoted $230. The cso also tell me don't bother because its not worth at all for an old model which after repair only give me 1 month warranty only

I tested the camera on Redmi Note 2. When zoomed in, the pictures seems to lack details.
