Imo, the disappointment is due to the same miui. So no point pay premium since even their flagships also has the same miui and does nothing extra.

Note: some features are hardware dependent. E.g. Redmi Note 2 camera manual mode does not have shutter speed control. Other models like mi4i or mi note have

Xiaomi Singapore might be holding a beta trial test first with selected Mi Fans on Mi Community. Maybe after that trial more or less it should be coming really soon.

I think probably xmas, which is about good 1Q after the release in cn. I have gut feeling they won't bring in the 32gb Prime set though...

By then Mi5 should be announced le, and if its in the $500 range, I may jump.

If they bring in Redmi Note 2 now, Mi4i sales will plummet. People buying Mi4i now because its the only middle budget phone available at the moment. Even then, they probably bring in 16gb version here to clear stock.

agree. Sadly, so far the local strategy isn't quite in line with the Mi cn...
But then again to be fair, we don't have the market size lor, so of course they won't give us the interest to bring in more colors and options...

All redmi note 2 models are export set.
English version? As in the miui in english? all miui has 3 languages, traditional chinese, simplified chinese and english.
So long you are using their official rom, the new updates will push to your device or you can download the rom yourself from below link.

Just to add, currently only official China Roms avail, global Roms not yet (I.e default mistore, google/playstore not installed)

For mine only 1 sim card can be set to 4g, the other doesnt have the option n is auto 2g, am i missing something?

No, you're right about we only can activated One Sim for data at a time, but I wanted to know if both SIM slots have "Prefer 3G" options.

That is correct. The other slot is automatically set to 2G once you elected one slot to 4G.
