Hi everyone, I am a newcomer to XiaoMi phones so what should I do to a new Redmi note 3 pro to get it working? What is global rom and do I have to update to MIUI 8? What do I have to do to root the phone? Can anyone post a link to step by step guide for the above? I am sorry for asking so much but there is just so many pages to go through to find the right information. Thanks for helping.:s12:

What class of SD card is compatible with Redmi note 3 pro? I came across someone saying its class 6 and below? And anyone can recommended a durable tempered glass protector? Many thanks:s12:

Something is not right. Quickpic cant move pic from sdcard to internal memory or other way anymore after my update to 8.0.
Anyone facing the same proble? Help!

Most likely your phone will come with the Global Stable ROM 7.3.6.0. It will support OTA update to 8.0.1.0.

You're right. Most phones, even flagship ones, are not designed to be dropped at ANY height with glass facing down. That's why you have tempered glass, screen protectors, flip cases, etc.

If you see any of those drop tests videos, they always ensure that the phone lands on its back or the side.

Never glass facing down.

I had a previous question about comparing Note 4 and Note 3, thanks for all the answers.

I bought from Lazada and also quite new to Android phones.

I am a little confused, MIUI is the redmi skin right? If I OTA to MIUI 8, the Android OS is still Android 5 Lollipop? It's a different SW update to get Marshmallow or Nougat?

That's right. The current stable global ROM 8.0.1.0 is still running on Android 5.1.1.

For the RMN3 Pro Snapdragon 650 processor model, there is a beta ROM that is running on Marshmallow; but the vast majority of people shouldn't be using beta ROMs. Why be an unpaid beta tester?

Not forgetting the fact you could brick your phone if you do not do the flashing correctly.

If not, I have to make plan to buy new phone next year when the 2G network shutdown :(

The hardware can support. But the official software still does not support...

I thought someone mentioned before that the updated global beta using mm supports 4g+3g?

Correcf bah!

The latest miui (not sure it is a Stable or Beta rom) supports 4G-3G already.

Previously, it was just 4G-2G....
