Any recommendation for phones in this price point...my redminote3 dropped by my son and now got one nice long crack.

Although still usable la..but everyday see liao seebeh zzzzz....

xiaomi coming up with anything at this price but improved specs?
Redmi Note 4 Helio X20 variant is your best choice currently.

The SD625 Qualcomm variant should be coming real soon but for now, it's still unconfirmed. However, there may be export sets on Qoo10/Lazada too.

Otherwise, the Galaxy J7 Prime could be another choice.

Fedup with the overly aggressive ram management of RMN3. That's by far the BIGGEST drawback about this phone, which is a real shame, since it has good hardware for it's price.

I have already disabled all the memory and Miui optimizations and it's still horrible, just less so. Use one app for awhile, go to another app, go back to first app, and it has to refresh. This is particularly annoying for Facebook or chrome, since it reloads the entire app and its contents, meaning that 1) you have to wait for it to reload 2) it does not save your last seen page 3) you waste more data (indeed my internet usage has increased significantly since going from LG G4 to RMN3 with no changes to the way i use my phone).

I have a qn for those who have tried custom Roms like cyanogen or resurrection remix or just about any other rom but the Xiaomi roms. Is the ram management much better with custom roms? Do all the features work? Like fingerprint and camera/LED light, etc?

Thanks

Anyone tried running 4g data on the second slot?

Usually I'm running M1 4g on the first slot, and Starhub 3g on the second slot.

Tried switching around in the software settings, but the 2nd slot Starhub is stuck on H+/H speed. Called Starhub and they mention my account looks OK, no reason why I'm not getting 4G.

Check under your Starhub sim for preferred network type, is it in 4G?

Is your starhub prepaid or post paid?

Does your starhub show 4g if you put it in sim 1?

Anyone facing intermittent service network issues on the latest stable rom? Mine keep jumping from StarHub 4g to StarHub 3g to no service.

Doubt is Starhub issue. The connection is solid on my V20, but my Note 3 is also having the same fluctuations like yours. I tried to change the network setting, etc but not helping at all. I guess this version of rom is unstable.

M1 postpaid on sim1, SH prepaid on sim2. APN is shppd, since shwap doesn't work. I purchased a data plan using the balance in main SH wallet.

Didn't try phisically swapping the cards.

ROM is official MIUI8 global beta 7.1.5.
