same here no choice to defer and auto download.

Go to about phone> system updates > press the 3 dots at top right hand corner >auto update > disable download automatically when connected to WiFi and install automatically. By default they are enabled.

I previously enabled this option also. but it didn't work for this round updates.

maybe the previous update override and I never change. :(

but so far the new update is working fine.

the thing I don't like is the security cleaner needs to upload folders?

not gonna use it man. :(

For those on 16GB storage, how do you free up storage? I already uninstall many apps and has very little videos on it.

But it is quickly 90% storage used.

DOWNLOAD more storage :s13::s22::s8:

But on a serious note, i am using 32gb model but still have 19.59gb available. (so it should be very much possible) .

Transfer all videos/ photos to external sd card. Music also. Go to storage settings, set all to external storage as default save location - Especially photos.

Can't be helped. I have a 16GB Redmi Note 3 as secondary phone and similarly I can't really put much apps in it. Try your best to save whatever you can into the SD card. Problem is that MIUI software takes quite a large portion of the 16GB storage.

Maybe your backup is taking up alot of space??
You can choose the backup to be stored in the Micro SD card, but any older backup is still in the phone.

Try going to individual app and clear the cache. The cache can take up quite a bit of memory. Some app data also eat a lot. Taobao app, and Whatsapp too. Clearing the cache is safe.

But if you clear the data, your login details, settings and photos videos etc will be wiped out. No big deal if you punch in the login details again.

Yup, WhatsApp takes alot of data. My dad has 10gb .....

But wemhen using Google drive to backup WhatsApp, it did not eat into the 15gb....
Besides backing-up to Google Drive, messages and media will also back up to the phone's internal storage. It's stated in the Chat Backup setting. I periodically delete the msgstore database files in Whatsapp folder.

By the way, MIUI 10 is announced and Redmi Note 3 is being the last mentioned in the supported device list. Meaning it's getting the coming update right?

Technically it should unless there are major bugs present which caused them to abandon the project.
It happened with Global Stable MIUI 8 on Redmi Note 3G a few years back.

Phone died off. The Charging port faulty. Anyone can recommend where to replace the charging port?

Lite Mobile?

Repair price seem fair, i've replaced my RMN3P screen @ $60, 3rd party.

I remember there's shop in Bishan, TPY, Boon Keng, Boon Lay.

Saw a notification briefly yesterday stating '9.5.6 Update, 1.1GB Stable, Security patch and bug fix'. Put on hold because was working. But later on couldn't get back the update. System update is not available. ????
