Managed to do it although it was confusing at start. Sad its still in lollipop instead of marshmellow.

I hope Xiaomi release marshmellow soon. I want the doze function. Read that it can extends battery life by almost 30~40%.

That is only when you leave your phone on standby most of the time. Doze is said to increase the battery when phone is in sleep mode by disabling app.

I bought my Redmi Note 3 from "Redbean" in Sim Lim square a week ago, any idea if this is an authorized seller of Xiaomi?

I noticed that the SIM tray can put in 2 SIM only, but not "hybrid" one that can put in microSD card, and the seller told me they sell all Redmi Note 3 in that dual SIM card tray, not hybrid one. Can I ask for a change in Xiaomi service centre?

No, the Redbean is not an authorized seller by Mi Singapore. It's likely a parallel exporter.

You likely got the older Redmi Note 3 that comes with the MTK Helio X10 SoC, and nope, you can't get it change from Xiaomi local service centre.

just updated to developer rom moments ago.... it is on 4g/3g now, umts on sim1 and lte on sim2... will test and play around with it a bit more

There are no settings for doze in any marshmallow phones.

I read up abit and doze will only kick in after certain conditions are met.

I hate to tell you this but it sounds like you "anyhow buy" without doing the proper research first.

Redbean is definitely NOT an authorized reseller; you definitely got an export set with no local warranty.

How much did you pay for it and for what model?

You almost certainly got the version with the MTK chipset. This version does not have Global ROM, so you are stuck with China ROM.

You should be getting the Redmi Note 3 "Pro" version which has the superior SnapDragon 650 chipset. Everyone should be buying this as it is faster and the SAME PRICE as the MTK chipset.

I thought we already learned from the Jover Chew incident in SLS...

Your best approach now is to try to go back and get a refund or exchange it for the "Pro" version.

By the way, for export sets, specifically the "Pro" 3GB RAM / 32GB ROM model, you should not be paying more than about $218 for it. That's the price in Lazada without any discounts, and it comes with FREE delivery. If you paid more than $220 for your phone, you got conned big time.

Buying it today (Friday) will knock 10% off the price using DBS / POSB credit cards and the appropriate discount code which can be found on the Lazada website.
