confirm yours is stable not developer rom. CN most likely is china rom not global and that explain why u got apps with chinese names.

to ans you. you can factory reset your phone (tick wipe sd). means u lose everything and the phone is like out of the box condition.

if you wish to change to global rom (do away with the chinese apps etc.)
google emergency adb reboot.
download miFlash
download latest stable global rom.
flash it using miFlash and tick the Clean all option on bottom right.

I'm following this guide:
http://en.miui.com/thread-235865-1-1.html

Got to the part where I type in "adb reboot edl"
Phone boots into black screen with red led.
Device Manager correctly shows "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM10)"
But Miflash simply cannot detect the device for flashing.

NVM. It miraculously worked after I uninstalled and reinstalled Miflash. :s13:

EDIT: The first boot took ages. After which I was only allowed to select China as region. It still loaded some chinese apps in the beginning such as: (roughly translated) Discount 800, News, Xiaomi Market. About Phone tells me I'm on MIUI Global 6.11.24 | beta.

ROM downloaded from
http://en.miui.com/thread-420091-1-1.html

Flashed beta 6.11.24. Waiting for it to boot up now.

I'd like to confirm that when I drag down the drop down screen, it says "M1 H" and "Starhub 3G", or "M1 4G" and "Starhub 3G", meaning 3g+3g or 4g+3g?

Anyone encountered note 3 charging? I tried reboot and use different USB cables. The phone and USB cable will be warm when I tried to charge.
Brought the export phone 2 months ago. Kaput already?

Congrats. Your phone will still be a dual SIM phone after April next year...

Just updated to MIUI 8.1.1.0 [Android 6.0.1], and these are what I have noticed:

- Fixes 5G network instability problem, now I can get connected without problem,
- Screenshot with 3 finger down gesture
- In Dev Option, MI Unlock Status is added to indicate whether its bootloader is locked or unlocked.
- Notification toggle is now vertical on 2nd swipe down

The 8.1.1.0 stable is on the latest firmware package as the global developer from 6.11.24 to 6.12.8. So that's good.

all in all.. 8.1.1.0 feels like global developer with android 6. Infact it feels exactly like 6.12.1 global developer with the notification changes to second space.

If you are on miui... this 8.1.1.0 is highly recommended until android 7 starts rolling out on global developer.

hi guys just to seek your advice...

recently bought 2 sets RMN3 3g/32gb from newstar @ qoo10. opted for additional "safety mark approved plug". apparently i noticed that this charger's output is different from xiaomi's original charger (5V 2A vs 5V 3A) as per below photo:

so i was wondering is it ok to use the 5V 3A charger? will it affect the battery in anyway?

No worries. The phone will be smart enough to take in maximum safety voltage to charge.
