Xiaomi Redmi Note 3

Hi all

Just ordered a Redmi Note 3 Gold through Lazada @ $159. A few questions to confirm as I was reading through this thread.

1. Screen protector for Kenzo can be used on this Kate model? Cutouts for front camera, earpiece and sensors are at the same locations? I am fine with screen protector not covering the entire front so long the cutouts fit.

2. For those using Kate model, where did you guys get cases for the phone? Any retailers or local sellers on Qoo10/Lazada that can recommend?

Go Settings> SIM cards & mobile networks>Sim Card Settings (Singtel/starhub/M1)>Access Point Names> change to 'prepaid' from 'postpaid' and change back.

Should be stable till next reboot.

Repeat again when you reboot.

so far only found one local seller selling kate case but it's Lenuo flip case, which ppl at xda-developers advised against getting.

oh no... camera got shutter sound but new photo does not appear in gallery. when i switch to video mode, camera app auto close. any remedy?

tried freeing space. has got 2gb memory now but still not working.
instagram WhatsApp and other apps that uses the phone cam manage to take photos.so no idea what's wrong...

the phone does get warm just playing around the settings (no gaming)

now need to find a case for it before passing to mom

You'll probably find more choices in aliexpress.

i dunno abt the batt experience...i am just a 1-day-old xiaomi user here


damn, i did some testing and realize this shitty problem

no notification of new whatapp messages
unless you used whatsapp recently and the UI/OS hasnt unload it from memory

i tried turning on all notifications, on/off MIUI optimization etc
cannot solve

Yes, already done so. Miui optimisation also turned off.

Press multi tasking button. Instead of swiping up to close app. Swipe down on the WhatsApp icon and click the lock icon above it.for me no problem with notification on 8.1.1 marshmallow.

Once you locked it, it will be locked until you unlock it even if you reboot your phone. What orange lock icon enabled? Do you have a ss of it?
