If that's the case what's the difference between China n global rom? Can I flash from China room to global rom myself? I know OnePlus can flash from hydrogen os to oxygen os easily. Same for XM?

The set I received is a sealed unopened set . Don't think they open up to install. Is it already install in the factory ?

btw, ty for answering all our questions. interested in getting one but was worried abt the 30 day pre-order thing.

Give them a call first before order. I call them before i order and was told the stock will arrive in one week time . I received my set around one week after order . Try not to message them , they took day to reply message .

Anyway , they got a physical shop in orchard road far east shopping center . Any problem can go down . Don't expect any good service from this type of import shop . If the price is good then buy .
If can wait then buy , if not better don't . They can promise you everything . End of the day, if they cannot fulfilled your order . They will just cancel it , like one of the member here kana .

I just to Google n realized that XM bootloader has anti zone feature. It does not allow China rom to be changed to global rom. If u did so, u must only keep the bootloader unlock. If u lock back, it will soft brick the phone... Wtf. XM dun support flashing....

How to tell it is running China rom instead of global rom?

If u are running China rom, does all Google services will work beside play store? When a new room is out, is the play store still gotta work? Seems like global rom is a safer bet.

Possible . It just a normal seal . Then they must be very hardworking to do the resealing and cleaning on the phone . Haha !

Anyway the miui version is miui global 9.5 stable 9.5.6.0(oeimifa)
I got problem attaching the screenshot here .


My previous import set come unsealed and with finger print all around the phone .

To me , nothing different except got some China app which cannot be uninstall . Everything work fine .
My previous redmi note 4 had been running on China ROM for month before i updated to gobal ROM . However I don't find much different .

Anyway China ROM can update to gobal ROM anytime when it is available . You can do it yourself or the shop can help you .
If want peace of mind . Get the local official set .

Maybe expert here can advise .

The older version of XM can unlock bootloader to flash to global rom and lock back the bootloader but seems 5 series onwards, u cannot lock back the bootloader. Without locking bootloader, Android pay will not work even game such as Pokemon go will not work. But u are welcome to the dark side of flashing custom roms and hacks...

My redmi note 4 bootloader was unlocked and never lock back after flashing gobal rom . However I still can play Pokemon go . No sure about note 5 thought .
