It's the other way around. But it's difference by camera that's all.
I have a quick google and it seems that AI is better than pro.
From
https://www.mysmartprice.com/gear/2...-successor-redmi-note-4-not-redmi-note-5-pro/, it listed the following points.
1) Redmi Note 5 Pro runs Android 7.1 Nougat-based MIUI 9, the Redmi Note 5 AI runs Android 8.0 Oreo-based MIUI 9 out-of-the-box.
2) While both the Redmi Note 5 Pro and the Redmi Note 5 AI boast the same dual camera setup on paper, but the 12MP primary sensor on the rear of Redmi Note 5 AI is better, thanks to its 1.4-micron pixel size and a f/1.9 aperture.
3) Redmi Note 5 AI is backed by a 4000mAh battery but with Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0. The Redmi Note 5 Pro also bears the same battery but with older Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0.
