Fwah yesterday out of accident I dropped my note 5 face down in the lift due to searching for my house keys, unbelievable thing is that there wasn't a single dent or scratch on it!

Only protection was the tpu case and nothing else. Really solid and sturdy!

hmm .. for me i would wait.. let me give u a price gauge for 64gb black .. export abt 235 and warranty set abt 265.. that rough price i will buy.. have some patience price will drop.. wait for good coupon be it lazada or qoo then buy.. But if yr current phone spoil and u need it urgently then buy

Good tips, thanks. Probably wait a while for local warranty set to drop. I also feel the price difference is too big. RN3 is dying but can tong a while more

Yep just checked and OIIMIFA is a modified ROM(as stated HERE. OEIMIFA is the official one. Unlocked my Redmi Note 5 but no matter what ROM I used to flash(tried every single one from 9.2.6.0), it will always be 9.5.6.0(OIIMIFA) after flashing. Anyone else managed to flash it to official Global ROM from 9.5.6.0?

how do u guys get it unlocked so fast? mine said 360h. you get an sms to say its unlocked right? 1st time with locked xiaomi bootloader, so confusing.

Do you mind listing the steps on how you did it? I've been unlocking and flashing via fastboot since Mi Max 1 and this is the 1st time that I've encountered this issue. I even tried CN Fastboot ROM but it still goes back to 9.5.6.0.

You will need 2 accounts with unlocked permission. Credits to yusoffb01 for the steps. For my case, I had to bind the 2nd account to my phone before it can be unlocked.

Managed to unlock phone without waiting for 360 hours On china stable rom. The trick is to use 2 accounts.
Both accounts must have applied for unlock permissions. http://en.miui.com/unlock/

Login first account on phone, Settings > Additional Settings > Developer Options > Mi Unlock Status. Tap on “Add Account” to bind to phone. Also enable OEM unlock option

Restart to fastboot (hold volume down + power button)

Using mi flash tool, login to first account and try to unlock, you will have 360h timer.

Restart phone, sign out of miui and login to second account, but DO NOT BIND PHONE. Then restart to fastboot

Login to second account on mi flash tool, then unlock will be successful without timer

ty, i just tried this and it unlocked. I saw on xda that this method didn't work anymore so I didn't try... oh well lol

anyway I tried the official roms too, and it stays at oiimifa. Tested with latest miflash, older miflash same results.

Mine was 9.5.6.0 OEIMIFA when it first came from JTBC.

It has since been updated to 9.5.13.0 OEIMIFA through OTA.

The matt screen protector... Does not stay on well.

I did some more testing. I flashed the miui10 developer rom and guess what? It successfully flashed and when the phone starts up, it shows miui10 but in the about phone area, it still shows 9.5.6 oiimifa nonsense. This seems to be hardcoded somewhere which baffles me, why would anyone do that?

Anyway, the good news is that the flashing does seem to work, but you will not get ota updates since that oiimifa thing never changes.

very lucky to get oeimifa set.

and that matt screen thing is prob just the protective film cos mine was scratched and when I used tape to pull it off to check the screen, the matt surface came off with the tape lol.

Is as good, been using it since receiving the phone fron day 1. JTBC will flash the pgone to global ROM for you.
