I did a search on Qoo10 it seems like I am seeing quite a number of rn5p instead of rn5. Is it that those are not legit? On Lazada I found rn5, but stated as export set (china), I take it that since definitely I am going to unlock and root, there's no difference buying export or local right?

I also saw Global version (cheaper than export set). What is Global version by the way??

All of them are rn5 cn.
rn5 India is called redmi 5 plus everywhere else in the world

It is quite confusing especially with qoo seller naming note 5 pro also.. As long as the set is from China and the front camera is 13megapixel it is the correct set.

Indian redmi note 5= redmi 5 plus in singapore.. (single back camera in the center)

Indian redmi note 5 pro is exclusive to the to India only with 20 front mega pixel camera and only andriod 7 now. Dual camera

China redmi note 5 dual camera is also call redmi note 5 AI is the so called better version then Indian redmi note 5 pro. Better in the bigger back sensor size, andriod oreo, and dual 4g sim support and AI etc.

Definitely 636.. 625 is redmi note 4 .. which is even slower than note 3

EDIT : I watched from youtube this RN5 Pro comes in two packaging boxes color, white and red. The red one only states NOTE 5 while the white box states the full name RN5 Pro.

So, what's the diff between the white box and the red one ?

The white box is actual Indian version ? Red box is actual from Tiongland (Global Version) ?

1. it's more expensive
2. it's aways out of stock
3. it has older a droid version and significantly worse battery life and main cameras

Are you talking about the 20MP selfie-cam one, reportedly from India version ?

If yes, just go to Little India area.

They have abundance of stock there.

Last pricing I know of is about $299 for a 4GB/64GB edition.

yes... however indian model the selfie camera is abit better.

software of 6x is WAY better though. the video and photos of the 6x is stunning. the indian rn5p is not so much.

Partly due to f/1.7 but definitely a big part on the software.

White box - Assumely indian version (with 20MP selfie cam)

Red box 1 - (China Version with 6GB ram) + 13MP selfie cam

Red box 2 - (Global Version with max 4GB ram) + 13MP selfie cam

Actually, I would still prefer the India version for the Global ROM, less hassle and bugs.
