From what i know global vs china has extra band 20. The rest should be the same. India set does not have band 7 which is needed in SG.

Indian set has lesser bands, not really recommended if you frequently travel to different countries.

Also, if you are using the Global set in China, cannot use China Telecom as the Global set doesn't have CDMA.

So there are 3 variants? India set, china set with china/global rom and global (local set) with global rom?

So it's not possible for any retailer here to sell the India set since it's not usable in sg?

If you're differentiating with network bands, then there's 3 variants(CN/Global/IN).

If you're differentiating just by specs (camera), there's 2 variants(CN(and Global)/IN).

All the export sets are 100% not covered by local Xiaomi warranty

If it is not register to ship in Singapore

Local mi service centre won’t help u

I been to the service centre afew times

I often see ppl ask to service their phone but rejected cos not local set

The export set warranty is probably shop warranty or ship to china?

Network bands supported:

China set
rJhH46p.jpg

Support for CDMA and more TDD-LTE bands. Lesser support for FDD-LTE bands as compared to Global set.

Global set

Specs taken from Mi Malaysia website.
More support for FDD-LTE bands, lesser support for TDD-LTE and no support for CDMA.

India set

Overall lesser bands supported, compared to China and Global set.

Singapore bands are 3 and 7 so indian set still can use. That is what i think.

I think the confusion came from all the on-line sellers. Even though most of them are selling china sets, they just cut and paste the india set specs from the indian website as it is in english. China website the description all in chinese.

Yeah.. at first I was just aware about the difference in cameras between the India/china set. Now there's a global set utilizing the same camera as the china set with lesser bands..lol

xiaomi doesnt even update their mi.com/sg website with the redmi note 5.
Seems like they have given up on this market.

Xiaomi has to pay more license fees to support all bands, which will increase the cost of the phone.

That is why Xiaomi only implement the global band feature in their flagship MIX series.

Good one.

Those bought from rwm can nao "test" if their stocks are really official MI SG-warrantied.

=:p

Imei or SN is on the box also ? Maybe can even test on the spot before opening the box if seller claim xiaomi SG warranty. If true, seller should not object, right ?

Better than finding out no xm sg warranty after half a year

I think the bands are hardware (transceiver). So more bands more cost.
