Interestingly Challenger store sells Redmi Note 6 Pro for S$329 4GB/64GB Version but S$349 for Redmi Note 5 4GB/64GB.

Spec looks identical but Note 6 Pro has dual front camera and S$20 cheaper.

Challenger now has Redmi Note 5 local set 4GB/64GB on offer at S$299 whereas the Note 6 Pro 4GB/64GB is still at S$329.

For Redmi Note 5, think official Xiaomi Tmall price can be a reference for both export set and local set. Export set will roughly be a bit above Tmall price (7% GST + local seller cost and profit), local set will be a bit over export set (local warranty).

RMB839 (about S$168) for 3GB/32GB Version

RMB1069 (about S$214) for 4GB/64GB Version

RMB1399 (about S$280) for 6GB/128GB

But there are not Redmi Note 6 in China yet. So I can only assume that reasonable Note 6 Pro price is probably S$20-30 above Note 5 when it gets more popular.

Can not compare Note 5 Export Set vs Note 6 Pro Local Set now...

The version number has 5 digit groups, official has 4. The boot loader status in settings show “unlocked” but it is in fact locked when using ADB to check. After force updating to MIUI 10, it still shows version 9.5.6.0. To get it back to stock, need to use test point flash method.

ok, I tried this and it seems to work. I've rebooted and it shows oeimifa. I haven't tried ota but it does show 9.5.19 is available. Have to think abt arb 4. Finally !!!

wouldnt work. that method requires the bootloader to be unlocked.

the redmi note 5 pro i go indicates "unlocked" in the settings when it is in fact still locked. which also means i cant bind the phone to my mi account to start the unlocking process.

No screen protector.
But got transparent tpu case. Case is average thicknesses, good protection, not those ultra thin types.
