There`s a new MIUI update for note this morning.
Any idea when next sales?

is slow charging an issue?Just to update the slow charging of Redmi Note:
It's possible to charge the Redmi Note in just 3 hours. Cable and charger are crucial.

is slow charging an issue?
my charging goes on extremely quickly. I'm using the provided redmi note charger with my old original htc cable
i can fully charge in 2 hours + at most, much faster than my old phone (which had about half the battery capacity)

i have the same thoughtsIt is an issue to some users. Previously I used Apple 1A charger and a normal usb cable, took me 7-8 hours! I believe the phone was taking in only 0.5 A but I am not sure.
Then I changed to Samsung 2A charger and another newly bought cable, it shortened to 3.5 hours. When I use this cable together with the original Note 3 charger, it took only 2 hours to charge my Note 3.
But judging from my Note 3 experience, if I were to use 1A charger to charge it, 2 hours+ is not quite possible. The charger supplied by Xiaomi is a 5V 1A one, so you say it is possible to charge it in 2 hours+?
I'm still trying to monitor using different chargers and cables to see what is the issue.
i have the same thoughts
my redmi note's charging seems to be performing beyond 1A level (if we assume my previous phones were using 1A as well), 3100mah charge too fast leh. maybe the redmi note's charging electronics are just better designed
i haven't really tested against other chargers on this phone, so i couldn't say for sure
but my impression since i got it was "wow, 3100mah with rapid charging"
thanks for the knowledgeAt least I can confirm that the circuitry on the phone can support more than 1A. The reason why Xiaomi give 1A charger is not known, but that doesn't 100% guarantee that the phone only takes in 1A based on the design.
For those who are interested, a little bit more technical information:
Usually phone manufacturer will give the adapter that matches to the phone's charging circuitry design. If the note 3 is designed to take in 2A, of course Samsung gives a 2A charger.
Also, comparing original chargers and those 3rd-party ones also give interesting results.
Some 3rd party ones may indicate it's giving 1A output, when in fact during testing with iPhone (this phone is taking in at 1A), it's only giving out 0.5A current!
Then the circuit design, 3rd party ones typically lacks safety features and their voltage/current regulations aren't as good as the original ones.
Next is the cable, this may be very trivial to most of users, but they do impact on the charging process. The critical point is the voltage drop across the cable due to resistance (when V=IR). If the cable is not thick enough, then resistance would be higher and voltage drop across would be higher as well. E.g. at charger's output it could be 5V, but at the input of the phone's USB port it could be 4.5V. A lower voltage means a smaller current draw. ==> your charging time is longer.
Shorter cable can help to solve this situation, but they have practicality limitations because too short.
So for Xiaomi's powerbank (in fact a lot of powerbanks), they give short cables so that when we use it to charge the powerbanks, we can ensure a high current input. Xiaomi states that their powerbanks can receive 2A input so that charging time is shorter. But here comes another issue, the cable wire's quality is another factor. I've seen people doing experiment where sometimes longer cables (1m or longer) outperforms those shorter ones!
Currently the best ones I've seen are those from LG and Docomo.
LG usb cables are shipped with their phones, I think starting from G2 onwards. They are easy to bend too. Docomo one is also good, longer than LG one but it's stiffer so it's not that easy to fold/roll and keep it. It has two ferrite beads (or sometimes ferrite chokes) to eliminate the noise so that signals in the cable are clean.
thanks for the knowledge
btw, i happen to be looking for a 2m long cable (or thereabouts, longer than 1.5m) so I can have the phone plugged in but still can access it while i'm lying in bed
2m is rather long and i'm hesitant to buy ebay ones because their cables are rather thin.
Where should i go to get an acceptable 2m long charger cable that won't disturb the charging process? my current htc micro usb cable is 1.2m long and it works with the xiaomi charger beautifully
